Lou is a wonderful host, always available if you need anything. The setting is charming, and the house is just as lovely. I highly recommend this stay!

A simple and straightforward breakfast which was perfect for me - croissants and coffee on days 1 and 2 with french toast on day 3 - all hand prepared and delicious. 2 Orchard Gate is a few miles outside Canterbury and yet is ideally situated for access to the university, you can avoid the city centre traffic. The village has 2 pubs, a cafe and a shop plus plenty of opportunity for walks etc. Access to and from Canterbury and the motorway to London was very straightforward, but you are away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A car is recommended.

A very warm welcome by the host, a nice clean room, added coffee on arrival to boot and breakfast the next morning. The tip we got to visit Chilham turned out to be quite good - lovely surroundings, and a very nice garden!

This was located exactly where I needed and the price was good enough that it made sense to stay in Thanet rather than driving back to London and then coming back the next morning. The hostess is great and is trying her best to make it all work. She brought me coffee in the morning, but I didn't want to put her out any further.

It was perfect last minute booking. The host was lovely, showed me around and brought me a nice coffee in the morning.
The bed was comfortable. The room is clean and quiet and nicely decorated.
I had a great night sleep.

I had the pleasure of staying at Louis' beautiful house at 2 Orchard Gate for one night during my visit to Canterbury for my convocation at Canterbury Christ Church University. The room was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, with fresh, clean bedsheets. The house itself is charming and located in a very quiet, peaceful area, which made for a pleasant stay.

Louis, the owner, went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Not only did she greet me warmly, but she even pressed my clothes and served me a lovely cup of coffee in the morning. Her kindness and attention to detail really stood out.

The location at Orchard Gate is also fantastic—very close to the university, which was perfect for my visit. For the price, it’s a great value, and I highly recommend staying here if you’re in Canterbury. Louis is a wonderful host, and the place truly feels like a home away from home.

Couldn't have had a more perfect stay. Lou's home was clean and ideally located near Mount Ephraim House for a wedding we were attending. Lou herself was super hospitable, even giving us lifts into town and arranging a late check in/out. thanks so much!

Everything was good

The room was extremely clean and tidy, and the hostess, Lou, was very friendly, and made the stay very relaxing. Some would probably say that no tv wasn't good, but personally I found it a blessing. Would definitely recommend, and wouldn't hesitate going back
