Review for Number 25 Gyeongju City Hall
We paid KRW 475,000 for our one night stay, and unfortunately, the accommodation did not meet expectations. The room had a strong smell of smoke, the bed was hard as bricks, and overall the facilities were extremely basic. The hotel is located in what appears to be a red-light district, with considerable noise throughout the night.
Breakfast consisted of plain white bread and a boiled egg, which was quite underwhelming given the price.
What truly stood out, however, was the host — she was exceptional. Her warm hospitality, fluent English, and genuine effort to recommend great local restaurants (including an amazing Korean barbecue spot) made a lasting impression. Her service was the highlight of our stay.
That said, the host’s kindness doesn’t make up for how below par the hotel itself is for the cost. We did stay during a public holiday when most other hotels were sold out, which likely affected pricing and availability.
If you’re visiting Gyeongju, I would recommend avoiding the City Hall area and instead look for accommodation around the Bomun Tourist Complex, which offers a much better location and atmosphere.
Everything except the host! She was fantastic!!!
Die Lage war sehr gut, die Besitzerin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereits und jederzeit bereit, Informationen über die Stadt zu teilen.
A very friendly english speaking lady at the reception.
Clean, cosy and kind of interesting accomodation in the heart of gyeongju. Bus stop is nearby as well as restaurants.
Breakfast is a catastrophy. Poor selection of food in plastic. Even worse than in American motels. Though the breakfast rooms seems like a mess.
The Hotel seems more like a Love Hotel were secret coubles tend to meet after Work and prefer to check in discretely.
Unfortunately there was no big bath towel available..
Everything was great 👍 clean and cozy)
The staff / owners
Nothing
The room was clean and carpark was available.
Hotel is within the red-light district it’s more for guest who are in need of a room for a quick night.
The owner has been exceptionally helpful, providing valuable guidance, arranging transport and helping with translation. Rooms are comfortable and clean
You need a short taxi or bus ride to get to the main cultural sites. Many night clubs in the vicinity of the hotel but still a calm neighborhood.
I really liked the owner she was very helpful and help me understand where things were and how to get there. Also a great room which was very clean and the whole environment was well maintained.
Super duper friendly appartment and host :)
Always helpful :)
She made our stay in Gyeongju to a great, local and authentic Experience we will always remember on our trip through japan & Korea

The rooms were spacious and clean. The host was friendly, welcoming, and informative about things to do and see in gyeongju.
The bed was hard as a rock.
The breakfast was disappointing. On the first morning, there were freshly boiled eggs, orange slices, bread, and cereal. But the next morning, the same eggs and orange slices from the day before were still on the breakfast table.
The neighbourhood is a bit seedy. There are a lot of massage shops, noraebangs, and room bars in the area.
