The manager or owner of property is a very soft spoken person
This experience was exceptionally helpful as it exposed the deceit that Booking.com hides from users of their site. The Tokyo is not luxury apartments, the lifts perpetually had bin juice in them. Yes, residents have to use the lifts to remove garbage from apartments. Booking.com remember you are operating in a South African climate, we will hold you accountable to South African rental law, stop protecting poor hosts and facilitating monies being stolen. I do believe the host may have another apartment in the same building, my advice stay away completely. There are far better places to stay when in Cape Town, try some of the other boutique hotels littered around the city, which is not that large, so it is very easy to get around.
The property owner is not a human being. He refused to do a partial refund despite me begging/pleading several times to do so. I have taken pictures at time of moving in and you clearly see that this is a "shithole". He should never be allowed to rent out properties.
This property is a scam. The bed had no mattress protector and was stained with blood. The couch was literally broken and provided no support when sitting. The glass stove was so damaged with little cockroaches scurrying out from underneath. The extractor in the bathroom did not work for the full term of stay despite reporting this to the host (also the apartment has a single window which only opens a small amount near the kitchen). The apartment perpetually smells moldy. The apartment was riddled with cockroaches despite being on the 4th Floor. The apartment is not serviced daily or even weekly, so be prepared for complete self-catering and cleaning. The dishes are chipped and some left broken, there was a bedside lamp that was broken. The other pieces of furniture in the apartment are left in a horrible condition. The host had to be asked for a schuko adapter as apparently he supplied appliances that don't fit any of the plug points. Booking.com refused to provide any assistance in the matter, protecting the rights of the host rather than the long-term stay customer. Don't be silly and book this apartment, Booking.com only allows previous rental residents to review a place post-stay. There is no parking for this property. There is no balcony so there is no outdoor furniture. The cupboards had cigarette butts littered in them. Truly a disgusting experience. The host/owner has absolutely no remorse.
If you had ready any of the emails to justify your comission you would know that it was so filthy we didnt stay there after the first night - but you sis nothing
