Atulya Lake View Mirissa - Resort and Spa

Idyllically situated away from the business of coastal Mirissa with direct views out to the lagoon and spectacular sunsets.
The property was clean, the room spacious as well as the bathroom - well equipped, comfortable and enjoyed the infinity pool.

Everything was excellent.
The location and outlook over the garden and lake was beautiful and very peaceful.
The staff were helpful and always available.

I stayed at Atulya Lake on my own and had a truly beautiful experience. The location is simply breathtaking, with stunning lake views that create an immediate sense of peace and calm. Waking up to that scenery each morning felt very special.

The staff were exceptional. So warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. As a solo traveller, I felt very well looked after. Their care and hospitality made a real difference to my stay.

The food was exceptional, delicious, fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Every meal was a pleasure, especially with those incredible views as a backdrop.

The property was spotless throughout. My room was very clean and comfortable, and the whole environment felt serene and well maintained. There is a stunning temple nearby which I visited regularly, I also went kayaking a few times on the lake.

A wonderful place for anyone looking for tranquillity, beautiful views, and heartfelt service. I would happily return.

Our stay at the Athulya villa lake view was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived until our reluctant departure, every detail was perfect.

The location offers a truly breathtaking view, and the sunsets were spectacular—a vibrant, unforgettable display of colors over the lake each evening.

The villa itself was impeccably clean and absolutely gorgeous. The room felt both luxurious and welcoming.

What truly elevated our experience, however, was the friendly and professional staff. Every single team member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed dedicated to making our stay exceptional. They handled every request promptly and with a smile, making us feel incredibly valued.

We can't wait to return!

Vimukthi and his colleagues all went above and beyond to make sure we were having the best time for our stay. As well as incredible local food, (best curry we ever had), and meanwhile having breakfast you could see animals in the garden - monkeys, big lizards and many birds.

They took such good care of us. Helped us as well to book a trip to the Udawalawe national park, which we decided last minute before. And to top it all off, had an amazing masseuse which gave us the best massage in Mirissa/weligama (tried 3 others).

Concluding, a beautiful hotel surrounded by nature and an amazing view - where you get treated with incredible hospitality and get to eat wonderful food!

Peaceful place to relax away from the city. The accommodation has an amazing view of the lake. There is a resident kingfisher which visited daily & we also saw some monkeys in the trees & small squirrels running about. The boat trip around the lake for sunset is a must as you get to witness all the fruitbats take flight for the night from their trees.
We booked our room option with breakfast included - you are required to order the evening before & give the time you want to eat. Staff are very helpful & always on hand if you need anything. The owner Malki, was also friendly & helpful, he also took us into Mirissa in his Tuk Tuk which is cheaper than the tourist Tuk Tuk’s  charge. Uber & Pick Me Are also available for less than the local Tuk Tuk, although you do need to let them know to avoid the narrow route to the villa. It's about a 10min ride to Mirissa, or you can walk in, which can take up to 40mins depending on your pace.

Wir waren drei Nächte in diesem Hotel und haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Das Team war warmherzig. Offen. Sehr aufmerksam. Man hatte immer das Gefühl, dass jeder wirklich helfen möchte. Das wirkte echt. Und sehr menschlich.

Die Lage liegt etwas außerhalb von Mirissa. Genau das macht den Ort so entspannt. Es ist ruhig. Man hört die Natur. Man sieht Affen in den Bäumen. Das hat uns jeden Morgen ein Lächeln ins Gesicht gezaubert. In die Stadt kommt man trotzdem schnell. Ein paar Minuten mit dem Tuk-Tuk. Fertig.

Wir hatten zwei Massagen. Beide waren großartig. Wir konnten abschalten. Man merkt, dass die Masseurin ihr Handwerk liebt. Magische Hände trifft es ziemlich gut.

Wir hatten hier eine richtig gute Zeit. Eine ruhige Zeit. Eine Zeit, in der wir runterkommen konnten. Wir würden wiederkommen. Und wir würden das Hotel weiterempfehlen.

Finally, you simply can't talk about Atulya Villas without mentioning the pool. It's fantastic, offering a refreshing and picturesque spot to relax, with the stunning lake view as a spectacular backdrop. It’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

At sunset you can see fron there thousands of fruit bats flying out over the lake to go out to hunt elsewhere, impressive and amazing to see.
Very new place, everything looked clean and with a nice mix between modern and traditional.

They also offer kayak rent and spa options like massages. I did a nice short kayak trip over the lake. I liked the massage i had from a friendly lady.
