Warm and welcoming and a perfect place to stay for us and our dog. Supper and breakfast were exceptional. A perfect blend of a pub for locals that is welcoming to outsiders

Very cozy accommodation. I went to Harbottle to visit the Drake stone and his place is ideally located about 40 minutes walk from the Drake Stone and Harbottle lake.
The room was pretty nice and comfortable with small private patio, great TV and bed and very good showe.
English breakfast was absolutely proper and delicious, breakfast room with fireplace was very comfortable and just what i needed in the morning.
Staff was very nice and the pub located in the in has some great beer (i arrived to late for the food).
I could enjoy some ground coffee for breakfast, not a biggest fan of instant :) and mustard is a must have, english Colman's mustard is such a classic, it should be available at every breakfast table

Couldn’t open any windows. The shower was in need of attention.

A lovely quaint pub with superb accommodation. Very clean and in great condition. Loved the element of the pub also being a shop,and selling local produce.
Good ales, well kept and some nice wines at reasonable prices.
The breakfasts were outstanding just as were the evening meals. Big portions and fresh.
A Very dog friendly place and the locals made you feel like one of them.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

My wife loved how there was a little outside place to sit with the dog and he could not get out. The star inn is very friendly the three lady's that night where great, food was great we had the
Steak very nice breakfast was spot on and the dog got a cooked sausage as well .
Location is great, room was lovely, a really comfortable bed. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. The food was superb and what a fantastic breakfast.
There isn't a single thing we didn't like.
