Unique, cosy, great atmosphere, great attention to detail, friendly staff
NA!
The accommodation is so beautiful! Steeped in history the building and all its little quirks are stunning.
The staff are helpful, friendly and so welcoming. It truly was a fabulous stay at The George & Heart House.
Hospitality and food.
Great pub, cool rooms, perfect location. For a continental breakfest, it was nice.
Drunk people shouting outside the pub late at night. Would have been nice for staff to control this a bit. Also, other guests used Reggie's room at 2.30am and were being loud and playing music. The room should be locked when the bar staff leave. £150/night in a small room without an en suit is a bit much.
That being said, we loved Reggie's bar and will stay at the hotel again, just not next to Reggie's bar.
Everything - the bedrooms, bathroom, breakfast room were beautiful
The only slight issue was that the heating felt like it was too warm.
Great decor, the pub downstairs is fantastic.Staff were incredibly kind, good breakfast and good teas and coffee.
I thought I'd be able to cope better with not having an en suite bathroom. I didn't. I know the hotel make it incredibly clear and in fact go out of their way to make it a comfortable experience after all, but I must confess that I didn't do very well with it.
The other challenge is the entry after hours. With no staff in the property if people get locked out because they forgot to take a photo of the entry code then you are out. I was woken up at 3 am by other guests knocking near our room from the outside and wanted to be let in. They apologised but tricky situation anyways. Maybe the code should be texted or printed in the key?
One more thing, the shower sink tends to be slow with risk of overflow when lots of people from other rooms shower at the same time in the morning.
The ‘Home Alone with Mrs Jones’ was sultry, dark and relaxing. We found it super quiet in the room and slept well.
The pub is lovely with good cocktails and friendly staff. The pub had a good atmosphere and nice clientele. In a good location in the old town.
The breakfast was also great.
We would return !
Room was quite small but not a problem for a short stay.
Beautiful room, excellent facilities, great food, extremely helpful and friendly staff.
