Beautiful setting. Excellent staff. Good food. We had a great private guide - Dalton. Who I would highly recommend
Getting there is a challenge. There is no signage from the main road and the Garmin indicates roads that appear to unsafe which they are not. You definitely need a sturdy vehicle. I would suggest asking them to send a pin location and don’t attempt the drive in the dark
Very nice and clean

This B&B is part of the Khula Skills Hub which is an active advanced educational setting. There were no bar facilities but this did not matter as our host Dume brought us to the local shop to purchase our requirements. What an experience! A real interaction that was totally safe and enjoyable. Our rooms were excellent with fantastic views over the Buffalo river and Rorke’s Drift. The breakfast and dinner were both ample and filling without being haute cuisine. It was a wonderful experience being looked after by Dume, Cindy and their staff. While the final passage in to the property requires a 4x4 it was well worth the trip and my fellow travellers speak fondly of the few days we spent there. It is less than 2km from the Rorke’s Drift Museum.
There is a lot of driving on D roads (untarred roads) to get to it but that is necessary to get to the Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana area anyway.
Although there was only one choice for dinner or lunch, the food was excellent and beyond what was expected. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating about the timings of meals etc. The price paid actually goes toward supporting the work of the educational foundation based there. The views are stunning and it is a pleasant half hour walk to Rorke’s Drift battlefield and museum.
The road to the premises is rough and needs work done on it. They do not have a licence to serve alcohol with meals so bring your own if needed.
Very good food and delightful staff.
We were very disappointed to find that the pool could not be used as it is a hot part of the country. Just before we left the pool was being cleaned but for us that was too late.
It was a fantastic place, our room had beautiful views over The Buffalo river that separated Zululand from Natal. The food was lovely and Cindy who looked after us was lovely. She found us a fantastic guide for the battlefields. Whilst we were there, the main building got struck by lightning which must have been very frightening for the staff. In spite of that and having no electricity they still managed to deliver supper to our room.
Nothing
A stunning location overlooking the Buffalo River, perfect for exploring this area of the Zululand battlefields.
The catering was beyond my expectations. Chef prepared meals to your requirements takes the whole experience to the next level. Rooms overlooking the buffalo River, sundown magnificent. Staff friendly and helpful.
Internet in rooms is intermittent. The place does not have a licensed bar. Bring your own to meet your needs for however long your stay. Problem solved!!
the staff
driveway needs a little attention
Friendly staff and good food
Great location, so close to The battlefields.
No complaints, it was all good
Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Beautiful view of the Buffalo River from our room.
The room was spacious and comfortable.
Staff were pleasant and welcoming
Food was simple, homely and tasty!
I liked that this guesthouse was part of a community empowerment project...
The road to the lodge was in very poor condition....fine for large powerful vehicles but difficult for those in smaller cars...it might be useful to issue some warning on the website...
It was good to be able to meet other guests at the communal dining table but it may also be a good idea to set a few individual tables for those who prefer a more private meal...
