Breakfast was really good, and the location is great, close to big parks and the city centre, making it easy to access and walk around.
The staff was not helpful at all. We arrived with a baby and luggage, yet no one assisted us, neither with parking, carrying bags, nor guiding us up the stairs to the reception. The overall atmosphere felt strange and unwelcoming.
At dinner in the Michelin-starred restaurant, the service was equally disappointing. Staff weren’t smiling and looked disengaged. We ordered a bottle of wine that only arrived 30 minutes later, after the starters were served.
They also offered a “special experience” of showing us the kitchen, but none of the chefs greeted us or made us feel welcome, it felt more awkward than pleasant. Honestly, if it’s done without warmth, it’s better not to do it at all. And when we left, the same thing happened, they didn't help with the luggage, barely say goodbye, didn't help with the stroller and the stairs.

As passerby we stayed in this nice hotel in Vichy. The welcome was friendly, they tried it in English, that was nice. We had a small room at the first floor at the back of the building. The bed was great en the shower also. Had also dinner in the restaurant. The staff was friendly and the menu exceeded our expectations. There were only menu's available, not "a la carte" but we didn't care, the food was great. We forgot our tablet in the room and Mrs Decoret was so friendly to sent this to our home address, well appreciated ! We can recommend this hotel/restaurant to the future guests.
The staff and the owner of Maison Decoret were really welcoming. The dinner in the evening and the breakfast were so good. It was a unique experience for us. Thank you.

That there was no hotel parking so therefore having to find street parking nearby.
We had opted for the tasting menu, which on paper was too confusing to understand as to what was involved. Finally there was a dedicated member of staff to explain things.
