Good Customer care and good location
Although my room did not have a window and was one of the smaller ones I was very comfortable. Good clean bathroom, comfortable double bed. The two staff members were extra helpful, courteous and an asset to the residence. Always so kind to me, carrying my rucksack to my room. The older gentleman spoke little English but went out of his way to try and we had a few chats. A lovely gentleman.
My room door kept sticking so had to get the staff to help me open it. It was mended by the end of my stay.
You have to pay extra for AC. Cash only payment
No frills basic accommodation, affordable and just about the same quality as what you get in Colombo for much higher prices if you stay near the fort.
Many insects in the room. When I arrived there was nobody available for check in and could not get in touch via phone, had to wait until someone appeared
Listern, this place is very good in the picture but the moment you enter, its like you are in a smelly cave with limited air circulation and kitchen right in front of the guest door. when they are cooking, oh dear, the chilly smoke is unbearable.
Listern, when i checked in, the guy convinced me to cancel my booking with Booking.com, saying he is going to give me a better discount. I felt for it and cancelled my booking. And he demanded payment for the 13 nights, same amount as it was in the booking.com, which i paid 120000SL. Unbelievable. I kind of managed the pain.
however, the stuffy smell of the entire place was one thing i was remained to handle on a daily basis. I could go out to Marino beach to have my breakfast and the entire meal, work from there and return at midnight just to avoid the smelly room.
The room size is not bad, but that stuffy smell oooooh. I complained immediately i arrived about the smell of the room, the red bedsheets, the lack of air circulation in the place. horrible. I kind of compromised and tolerated for a week, just to think maybe its just me. But when my daughter came over, she simply said Mum, who booked for you this place? is it your work place? you will get sick here, we cant stay here one more night Mum. That is when i realized it was truly bad. As such we moved out to Cinnamon Lakes view. Unfortunately when i asked him to refund the money for the days i check out, he refused. I felt scammed, i felt i over compromised on my health for a week, i felt my money went to the drain.
This is one place i will not advise anyone to book you will regret. The staff there are just managing i guess , they were polite to me, but not refunding the money and the smell of the entire place, limited air circulation are the draw back.

Totally run down establishment.
Very dirty. Broken drawers in the kitchen, dirty pans left on the stove, mould and dead insects in the kitchen cupboards, no dish liquid to clean your cups.
Beddings smelled stale.
