The hotel/pub has been redecorated since my previous visit some years ago, it's full of old English charm with friendly staff and good food. Due to the bar size not being huge it retains the ability to be snug and charming. Will stay again.
I think a new bed mattress could be due.

Quite a few stairsgoing up to the room. The parking was in a nearby multistorey carpark, which gets locked overnight, which could be a problem if you need to leave really early

We couldn’t get the tv to work and it was not fixed after we told them.
Whilst it’s a personal preference, I think having GB news on the tv during breakfast is risky because it has a political position which is not ours, so we won’t return.

Only 1 thing was the Pillows. Very thin not comfortable. I would have given a 10 if wasn't for that
I thought smoking in public houses was illegal and banned. Having entered the premises, the smell of cigarette smoke hit me and the area was filled with smoke from people smoking at the bar. After returning from dinner later that evening, smoking was still ongoing and the smell was not pleasant. The value of the stay didn’t represent what the hotel / Inn had to offer at all. Terrible experience.
