Lovely Hotel in a location suitable for our purposes and our trip. Welcoming staff, good ambiance, nice bar and great breakfast and food.
Nothing
Garden, pleasant if somewhat hemmed in by the surrounding road and houses.
Bed very comfortable
The property itself felt suburban in style and doubly so when walking into town (about one km) through suburban traffic.
Three light bulbs in bathroom dead. Double glazed windows have melted glazing surrounds - surprising for a five star establishment. The restaurant was disappointing and the risotto of winter vegetables might have been edible had it included any other vegetables rather than turnip shavings. A single slice of decorative carrot does not a vegetable make. Two dishes, two glasses of wine and bottled water 105€
Grotesquely over priced wines with markup 7 times shop price.

Beautiful elegant hotel. We spent 2 evenings in the bar. Because the fireplace, when it's lit, it's so magical. The food was excellent in both the bar and the restaurant. We didn't include breakfast with our trip. But it looked like a very nice meal. Make sure to walk the gardens. We wish we had been here in the summer of spring.Because then we could have taken more advantage of the outdoor beauty of this hotel. It's well worth staying here because we were able to park right next to the hotel and easily start our day.
The food and bar were a little pricey. It's not really within walking distance. We had to drive to get to the centre of town. But parking was very easy.
Absolutely lovely with a spa right next door. You can lounge in the garden, and when it’s rainy, there’s plenty of indoor space to enjoy reading with a cup of tea. The Green room opens up onto the garden. The bar area is warm and cosy.
The beds are comfortable and towels are plush.
The breakfast offers a variety of breads, cereals, fruits, and you can order eggs. Fresh orange juice, jams, local honey, yogurt, etc. Highly recommend it.
Garden, upkeep of hotel, staff and food were amazing
Really can’t think of anything

The hotel and grounds are gorgeous and it’s hard to believe that it’s walking distance to the tourist district of Aix as it feels like you’re in the country side. The hotel itself is beautiful with very attentive and friendly staff. There were several welcome gifts in the room, including a small cake (although I couldn’t try this as I am gluten intolerant. I had informed the hotel prior to arrival).
Overall this hotel is spectacular - but the breakfast lets it down, as it doesn’t match the calibre of the hotel. There were two breakfast staff present, although we didn’t realise this at first as one of them was dressed in a tracksuit. This was very surprising as the rest of the staff were very well dressed. The breakfast buffet itself was quite small. There is no gluten free bread in the buffet, you need to request this to be brought to you. I ordered a poached egg on gluten free toast. It was brought out on wheat bread. The waiter realised this just as he was about to serve it to me. I asked the waiter if he could bring extra gluten free bread when the eggs returned, but he didn’t, just two very tiny pieces under the eggs. The same thing occurred in the afternoon when we ordered some food from the bar. I ordered some dips with gluten free bread. Two tiny pieces of bread were brought out with a very large quantity of dips (far more than the bread could handle). I asked for some extra bread and the staff were obliging, but it took a very long time. I would recommend the chef try this bread. It has a very strong buckwheat taste that overpowers the food it is served with. There are many brands of gf bread on the market that are much better than this.
