Pros:

The hotel is modern and has a lovely view and the staff are really kind and let us stay a little later than check out so that we could go to the beach in the morning and go for lunch! I would definately come back. The breakfast was also great

Magnifique hôtel
Pros:

J’ai passé un excellent séjour au sein de Blue Waves Surf House Beach Hotel. 3 nuits dans une chambre face à la mer et bercé par le bruit des vagues, un pur bonheur. Situé à 5 min en tuktuk ou 15 à 20 minutes du centre d’Ahangama, cet hôtel offre un havre de paix et calme. Non loin également de Midigama et Weligama, il est facile de s’y rendre, à pied comme en tuktuk. Ma chambre était spacieuse pour une personne seule et très propre (le ménage était effectué quotidiennement). Tous les jours, vous êtes informés, par WhatsApp, des activités du jour suivant telles que du yoga face à la mer, des ice batch (merci Marta (Mardi) de m’avoir convaincu d’essayer) ou des lessons de surf. Tous les vendredis, il y a des sessions de musiques lives et pleins d’autres activités organisées notamment dans le restaurant de l’hôtel. The Jungle, ledit restaurant offre d’excellents choix de nourriture pour un brunch et le soir (vous recevrez à l’avance le menu de la semaine) et leur café est super bon. Le petit-déjeuner est également disponible et se compose de deux options, sucrée et salée, accompagné d’une boisson chaude, de fruits et d’un granola. Le personnel au complet est très professionnel, disponible et aimable. Merci d’avoir rendu mon séjour si agréable et reposant.

A disappointing experience due to rigid and unhelpful customer service.

The surf spot

Cons:

Complete lack of flexibility and commercial judgment. Despite exceptional circumstances (war in the Middle East preventing one guest from traveling), the hotel refused any adjustment, even for clearly unused services.

Additionally, the property is literally on the main busy road, it is extremely noisy due to constant road traffic (24/7), and the doors and windows are poorly insulated — definitely not a place to stay if you are looking to rest.

Breakfast lacked variety, exactly the same every day, which quickly became quite dull.

Cons:

Manque de confort dans la chambre, nuits tres courtes, très forte luminosité très tôt le matin, voilage au lieu de rideaux et pas du tout opaques, bruit de la route qui est une espèce de pénétrante avec plusieurs voies, soit la route principale menant à Ahangama, bruyante 24/24, comme si les voitures passaient dans la chambre.
Chambre très basique, aucun thé ni café à disposition alors qu’il y’en a dans tous les hôtels de l’île.
Accès mer difficile, pas de piscine.
150$ pour 2 sessions d’une heure de surf, Une activité qui bien sur a été proposé sans prix annoncé, sachant qu’une session surf doit coûter approx 15$ sur l’île.
On paie le prix du concept, alors qu’on pourrait trouver des hôtels d’une qualité bien meilleure à la place, je ne recommande donc pas.

Tolles Hotel in wunderschöner Lage

Wunderschöne Lage, tolle Aussicht vom Zimmer und super nettes Personal!
Vermutlich bedingt durch die Lage direkt am Meer, gab es auffällig wenige Mosquitos, was sehr angenehm war.

Cons:

Etwas mehr Stau- und Ablagemöglichkeiten im Zimmer für Kleidung, etc. wären insb. bei längeren Aufenthalten wünschenswert.

Das Zimmer mit Meerblick bietet einen traumhaften Ausblick. Das Hotel liegt wunderschön direkt am Meer, und von allen Bereichen aus hat man einen tollen Blick auf das Wasser. Alles war sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und vielfältig. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Besonders gefallen hat uns das große Angebot an Aktivitäten wie Surfunterricht, freies Surfen, Yoga und Eisbaden.
Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

This was our second stop on our Sri Lanka trip and wow we absolutely loved it at Blue Waves. The views from the bedroom and falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing was just perfect! We also recommend the surf lessons from the team. Everyone is super welcoming and friendly. Facilities were great and location was close by to local restaurants and bars. Can’t wait to return 🏄🏽‍♀️

Das Hotel an sich und die Ausstattung sind sehr schön.

Cons:

Wir haben das Hotel gebucht um unsere surfing skills zu verbessern und das Programm zu nutzen. Leider wurden unsere Erwartungen hier überhaupt nicht erfüllt. Es ist alles sehr unstrukturiert und die Zeiten der Surfstunden werden erst am Abend davor kommuniziert. Viele Stunden erst ab 10 wenn die meisten Leute auf dem Board sind. Hinzu kommt, dass eine Stunde in der Gruppe (bei uns 4-6 Personen) 65€ gekostet hat. Extrem teuer und mit Guides die nicht mal richtig englisch konnten. Auf dem Video Material waren dann nicht mal die Versuche, sondern nur die Wellen die komplett gesurft wurden. Fokus lag hier mehr darauf die eigenen Freundinnen zu filmen. Nachdem während unseres Aufenthaltes nur einmal das Eisbaden angeboten wurde und Yoga auch ausgefallen ist (15€ zusätzliche). Wollten wir den Tag im schönen Außenbereich nutzen. Meisten sind die Liegen hier aber von externen Leuten besetzt die einfach die Anlage nutzen, was auch nicht kontrolliert wird.
