Lovely homely accommodation a few steps from the pub. Great food & friendly staff.
Location was lovely and could have a coffee next to the river. Food quality was great and room was like home from home!
No problems at all
The location was excellent and the view was absolutely gorgeous.
What we didn’t like were the spiders that were basically everywhere.
Location was great and staff super friendly and helpful.
Bed not the most comfortable bed.
Location was lovely & the staff were exceptional
Lovely having a cream carpet in the cottage. However, just felt grubby when you walked into the building. The room carpet was also grubby in appearance with fraying edges.
The bath was NOT clean (hairs & tidelines) & therefore a shower had to be used which meant water went everywhere. The breakfast was lovely & girl doing coffee was amazing but food took over an hour to arrive as only 1 in the kitchen. Breakfast included pastries (not seen)
Room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Very cheerful and attentive staff. Lovely food and good service.
Lovely setting, super comfy bed, beautiful roll top bath. Restaurant, beautiful setting. Food for evening meal was exceptional.
The only downside for me was no shower, but there was a handheld shower in the roll top bath. This would definitely not put me off staying again. Will definitely revisit in the Summer.
The location on the river. The attentiveness of the staff. The design and look/feel of the pub. The room was clean, warm, towel service each day. Family member did take breakfast and reported it was very good.
Breakfast time not early enough 9am start, but i left for work at 8am . Also we stayed in a 'high' room - one flight of stairs, but the heating system (or whatever), started at around 5.30 and the 'water hammer' noise wakes you early. It was each morning from 5.30ish, on/off for 15 secs repeatedly.
Also shower head is hand held (in a bath), but the bath is raised on feet, so the space above your head to the ceiling is too small, so you have to bend down - meaning water goes everywhere. also if you put the shower head down -water goes everywhere - the alternative is constantly switching water on/off... I spent more time drying the floor than in the shower.
This is the third time I have stayed at the Beetle & Wedge. This time I stayed in the Sapphire Room which was gorgeous. Beautiful cosy room, with a very comfortable bed, and spacious bathroom with shower and lots of hot water. I ate at the pub too in the evening and enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal. Beautiful riverside location. The coffee is excellent too!
Nothing
Lovely riverside pub. Lovely food.
A fabulous location. Rooms are very well equipped and very clean. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious. Would recommend highly.
The cute room in the cottage, with a little fridge and nice touches.
The restaurant was excellent
The location is just stunning, right on the River Thames - perfect for a romantic getaway and walk.
The only thing that I felt uncomfortable about as a solo traveller was the fact that the main door to the cottage was unlocked all night and there was significant public access both from the pub and via the river towpath.
I would recommend that this is changed. I don't see there is any benefit to it.
Clean, spacious room - easy & accessible parking .
Communal door entrance to accommodation looked ugly and out of place in respect to the rest of the build. Chucky key code thing which was obsolete as the door was left open .
