It was lovely, staff were lovely, it was cute, but I felt it was just a little bit overpriced for me he standard.
Pros:

It’s a stunning location. I also loved the staff. They were all so friendly and went above and beyond for us. That is their biggest selling point: the lovely staff. Food at the venue is great, and the hotel is nicely decorated.

Cons:

It reminded me of a little b and b, and was a bit grubby. It wasn’t dirty, but I wouldn’t have called it super clean either. There was black mould around the bottom of the shower. I know that comes off easily with bleach. As all showers get it. It was also dirty under the bed. It just all felt like a ‘quick clean’, not a deep clean - which I think should always be the case when using a hotel. Our room was on the corner and as there was no A/C, we needed the windows open. But we were literally next to cars driving past which didn’t bode well for a great lie in! But that’s also the charm - how the rooms are set in this sweet little cottage on the corner.

Lovely stay with lovely friends
Pros:

Location was lovely & the staff were exceptional

Cons:

Lovely having a cream carpet in the cottage. However, just felt grubby when you walked into the building. The room carpet was also grubby in appearance with fraying edges.
The bath was NOT clean (hairs & tidelines) & therefore a shower had to be used which meant water went everywhere. The breakfast was lovely & girl doing coffee was amazing but food took over an hour to arrive as only 1 in the kitchen. Breakfast included pastries (not seen)

Exceptional
Pros:

Lovely setting, super comfy bed, beautiful roll top bath. Restaurant, beautiful setting. Food for evening meal was exceptional.
The only downside for me was no shower, but there was a handheld shower in the roll top bath. This would definitely not put me off staying again. Will definitely revisit in the Summer.

i picked the wrong place - v good staff, good food by reports, but for hols/weekends, not work
Pros:

The location on the river. The attentiveness of the staff. The design and look/feel of the pub. The room was clean, warm, towel service each day. Family member did take breakfast and reported it was very good.

Cons:

Breakfast time not early enough 9am start, but i left for work at 8am . Also we stayed in a 'high' room - one flight of stairs, but the heating system (or whatever), started at around 5.30 and the 'water hammer' noise wakes you early. It was each morning from 5.30ish, on/off for 15 secs repeatedly.
Also shower head is hand held (in a bath), but the bath is raised on feet, so the space above your head to the ceiling is too small, so you have to bend down - meaning water goes everywhere. also if you put the shower head down -water goes everywhere - the alternative is constantly switching water on/off... I spent more time drying the floor than in the shower.

A beautiful riverside pub accommodation, very cosy and comfortable rooms, and excellent food in the pub restaurant.
Pros:

This is the third time I have stayed at the Beetle & Wedge. This time I stayed in the Sapphire Room which was gorgeous. Beautiful cosy room, with a very comfortable bed, and spacious bathroom with shower and lots of hot water. I ate at the pub too in the evening and enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal. Beautiful riverside location. The coffee is excellent too!

Cons:

Nothing

Beautiful setting, restaurant and cute accommodation.
Pros:

The cute room in the cottage, with a little fridge and nice touches.

The restaurant was excellent

The location is just stunning, right on the River Thames - perfect for a romantic getaway and walk.

Cons:

The only thing that I felt uncomfortable about as a solo traveller was the fact that the main door to the cottage was unlocked all night and there was significant public access both from the pub and via the river towpath.

I would recommend that this is changed. I don't see there is any benefit to it.
