Glad I chose to book
Pros:

Room was lovely, really clean and decorated with thought and care. It was the staff that really stood out for me especially at breakfast time - generous and welcoming. I felt looked after.

Un buon soggiorno tutto sommato.
Pros:

La stanza aveva un aspetto confortevole, addirittura il tappeto in pelle di pecora, vassoio da te a disposizione sempre approntato e rifornito. Wifi gratuito a disposizione. TV digitale. Colazioni alternative di qualità.

Cons:

Good family pub with rooms
Pros:

Lovely friendly staff, great breakfast.

Cons:

Room was very noisy - from road outside and also guests above, you could hear every move they made.

Pros:

The accommodation was clean and well thought out. Although a pub, there were no issues with noise and I had a good night's sleep. The staff were excellent throughout. Charlie in particular was very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. Many thanks!

Perfect place to stay if attending the Hay on Wye Literary festival with a car.
Pros:

I was attending the Hay on Wye Literary festival by car and it is perfect for that. The pub has free parking and it is 30-45 min drive from the festival. The room was very comfortable and the food in the pub was great.

Cons:

No food served on Sunday evenings but I was warned of this so just had to make other arrangements.

A gem of a place - will stay again
Pros:

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. The pub was very busy which was a positive sign and we were not surprised, as when we had dinner the service and quality of the food was fantastic. We stayed in their accommodation and it exceeded what we'd expected for a local pub. It had 'extras' like a cafetiere and coffee, toiletries etc. The bed was really comfortable and the decor was very stylish. It was a real find and when we're back in the area we won't hesitate to stay there again. Thank you to all the team for a lovely stay.

Cons:

Nothing

If you like the ‘pub with rooms’ vibe, this is one of the best.
Pros:

This is a lovely pub with great food and incredibly nice rooms. The accommodation is all pretty new which means it’s all beautifully smart and comfortable with excellent shower (so important!). We ate dinner in the pub - excellent, fairly traditional menu and done beautifully and great value, and breakfast was similarly beautifully done, stand outs being the incredibly fresh eggs and superb quality bread for the toast. The staff were just lovely. We were there for an overnight stay en route elsewhere and genuinely did not want to leave.

Cons:

Honestly not sure I can fault it. It’s a roadside pub, it’s not pretentious, but we are already looking forward to a chance to pass through Madley again.

The noise from the room above - poor insulation. They were fully booked for dinner which was a shame.
