Perfect spot for a Peak District ramble.
Pros:

Great welcome from Neil and friendly helpful staff. Good size room with stocked mini bar fridge and tea & real coffee making facilities. Complimentary cakes and a residents lounge and cinema area. Dog friendly.

Cons:

Coffee pod selection in the room was slightly limited but that's just being picky

Not a pleasant stay at all very dissatisfied 😒
Pros:

Beautiful property in a lovely rural location I’ve stayed here a few times

Cons:

No manager at check in - self serve portal didn’t work - went into bar area to ask someone for assistance and was told “I’m on the bar you’ll have to see the check in manager” or something to that effect ! Eventually manager came in and helped us get checked in .

Booked a double bed - confirmed a double bed and got a twin , stayed with some business customers who booked separately and there room was wrong also , bin was full in the room and the window latch broken which I fixed myself . Went for dinner and it was 9.02 and got told last orders was 9pm I asked surely we can order and was told no again ! Oh well customers had travelled all the way from Sevilla and was a long days travel so we didn’t eat .

Good but with a couple of changes could be fantastic.
Pros:

Room was good, facilities excellent, good shower, great staff

Cons:

Pillows not good, room at front and road was noisy all night with the window seeming like it was 80's single glazing(it wasnt) no thermostat to control room temp or towel rail, left the room quite cold

We had a lovely walking holiday in the Peak District with our dog.
Pros:

Very dog friendly place to stay. Comfy lounge to sit downstairs after a lovely walks nearby. Complimentary Cakes and cookies at 4pm was a very nice touch. Good location. Rooms were just as you saw in the pictures. Bus stop just outside the property so didn’t have to drive if you didn’t want to.

Pros:

Close to home.

Cons:

Sadly i ordered food via the app. I kept checking the app to see when it was ready. 20 minutes i rang reception down to ask and they said they check and updatw the app. Needless to say the food had been ready 20 minutes. The staff didn't bother to reheat or recook my order so ive paid alot of money for cold food that was late...

Clean, well-maintained, relaxed outdoorsy vibe.
Pros:

Clean, no fuss hotel. Breakfast was self service and just what we needed. The room was spacious and well-equipped.

Cons:

I am not a fan of dogs but on the whole they were well behaved, you just need to be aware just how dog-friendly it is. The road might keep some people awake.

Perfect dog-friendly place for walkers and bikers.
Pros:

Super hotel with nice facilities catering for walkers and bikers. Dog friendly. Facilities and rooms were perfect and as described. We’ll be back.

Great location for visiting the Peak District.
Pros:

Good location, bar and restaurant very good. The unmanned reception area was a little challenging. The bus stop outside is great for visiting both Hope and Castleton.

Cons:

Automated check in and out process could be smoother.
