"Drink of the Week" was an Aperol Spritz, yet the bar staff did not know how to make it. In addition, when I ordered a glass of rosé wine, the bartender initially reached for a bottle of white wine.
No parking due to main road being close but told to park in public car park and our parking costs would be reimbursed if we provided our receipt. However, at check-out we were told that reimbursement would only be made once the hotel had successfully reclaimed the money from the local council. This was not what had been explained to us on arrival.
The biggest disappointment, however, was breakfast. We were the only customers and the service was extremely slow, with food taking between 45 minutes and 1 hour 15 minutes to arrive. Each breakfast was brought out separately, meaning members of our group were eating at different times, and when the food did arrive it was cold. We had to ask for condiments three separate times before eventually going into the kitchen ourselves to collect them. The delays became so excessive that one member of our party had no choice but to ask for their breakfast to be packaged to take away.
When we raised these issues at check-out, we were met with an eye roll from the receptionist rather than an apology or any attempt to address our concerns. Very dismissive attitude from the staff to guests.
I emailed the hotel directly before posting this review to see if they would help resolve the issues/ parking costs but havent heard anything back.
Staff were really outstanding, especially Isla (not certain of spelling) who could not have been friendlier or more helpful
The food in the bar in the evenings is really delicious. Highlights for us were the Thai salad special and the steak which was cooked exactly as requested, and the kids menu is very good value - their highlight were the ice creams.
Easy to get to and a perfect base for travelling with Bath , Salisbury etc very close by -Longleat in only 10 mins up the road. Parking available
Due to the age of the building, which in most elements makes it unique and interesting, some of the fittings and fixtures can be a little dated.
Sadly, the windows in the room don't open so .it can feel quite stifling and hot in the room in warm weather despite the electric fan supplied
Great location but don't get hemmed in to the car park on market days
Include breakfast, it should be at this price.
The hotel room was very nice.
That it was card payment only for food and drinks had we been informed of this we would of bought card with us but only had cash on us. Also we drive truck so had to park in public car park as we couldn't get in to hotel car park as very small entrance.
Well positioned, roomy accommodation including a bath. Nice courtyard. Able to lock up our bikes. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
All good.
Amazing place centre of warminster
Breakfast not served till late - needs a breakfast to go option to help those who have to leave early
Lovely old fashioned pub, great room , very clean . Lovely view of the old courtyard.
