Pros:

The surroundings and the decor were excellent. The food was outstanding and cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and helpful.

Cons:

There was a slight problem with sewage smell as we were not in the main house but in a building on the grounds. The dining room was quite dimly lit with lights onmy in the centre of the room and we had to read the menu with our phone torch. The second night, we asked for more light, and we were moved, which was no problem

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday with family and a wonderful visit. The food was amazing. We would highly recommend
Pros:

We loved the whole experience. The decor was amazing throughout and very individual.

Cons:

Nothing. Although for those elderly visitors with accessibility needs you will just need to ask for a ground floor room.

Terrible ruined my NY
Pros:

I was located at the coach house room nice but very hot during evening. Hallways outsiide looked grunt.

Main house was very cold everyone was complaining I was told the rooms in the main house were Aldo’s very cold. Very small bar area with no service for a long time had to wait for ages for drinks. There are a few rooms I. The main house to sit in -was just like a sitting in a front room very strange things in Jars did not feel comfortable. Restaurant very dark had to wait for over an hour for main meal.drinks very expensive.meal was nice paid for 3course included with room -very small portions felt Hungry after 3course . Stayed new years Eve no celebrations on or music etc you would have not have known it was new year !!! Fed up after waiting so long just went to room and went to sleep.
Breakfast nice but very small portions just piece of toast and poached egg.small bread basket with what tasted like Tesco value bread.
Complained about wait at dinner to reception very poor response. Worst hotel and new years ever very young staff and inexperienced.hotel was Something out of faulty towers very strange vibe.

Cons:

As above

Pros:

The room is as shown in the picture and is nice. The restaurant staff was very welcoming, helpful and friendly at all times.

Cons:

It is very hard to find the hotel and even more difficult to find reception. Be aware that reception might be already closed earlier. We arrived at around 7:00pm and after a 30 minute search in the cold for reception and figuring out if we were in the right place, we were greeted with the sentences "We don't like signs". We also had tried calling them, but no one picked up. Finding the room was also difficult as there are also no signs in which direction your room is or even which entrance you need to take. Next to that we are asked to hurry to dinner as we had no dinner slot booked (was never mentioned before) and also we were then booked into a breakfast slot at least for the next day. Hence it was very stressful and we did not feel welcome.

Amazing hotel, food, staff and value for money - Will be staying again
Pros:

Breakfast and evening meal included in the room package. You do have to pay a surcharge for some meals and the side dishes are £5.00 each, which we already knew. This is our third visit and will definitely be staying again.
The hotel is a quirky, country hotel with an art vibe.
Staff were lovely as always and met Luciano, Marco's son, who recognised us from our previous stay he was so nice.
Room was great size, had everything you need. Low lighting is an aesthetic, so do not expect bright lights. Loved the taxidermy magpies on barbed wire in a glass case on our wardrobe. Art everywhere.
Marco was sat working in one of the lounges and waved as we walked passed.

Cons:

There was nothing we did not like.
With my attention to detail, the cleaning could have been slightly better, but I am nit picking.
This had no impact on our stay.

Quirky country house hotel with attentive staff and good food
Pros:

Felt like it was staying in someone's large country house rather than a hotel. Quirky and full of personality

Cons:

Unable to have hot drinks on arrival as no facilities in the room and complimentary drinks only available when the bar opened at 5. Could do with a few more lights in places - not a criticism per se but hard on the eyesight - lots of super books but too dimly lit to read them and need the phone torch for dinner menu.

Spectacular hotel at an unbelievable price!
Pros:

What a truly spectacular hotel.
The Manor House was a real gem, with great casual lounges with wonderful furniture and decorations, a beautiful restaurant and bar.
The Coach House Room was massive and had a really comfortable bed with great decoration.
The Breakfast and Evening Meal was arguable the best food we have ever eaten.
The staff were friendly and efficient, and Marco was present on all 3 days of our stay.
All for a 3-night Half Board rate of £315!

Cons:

Nothing but the fact that we had to leave after a wonderful 3 night stay!
