Having to pay for parking and no microwave in the room

Paying extra for a "view" was really not worth it. Mostly rooftops of other hotels and things. The room was not ready upon arrival (after check in time began) which messed up our plans for the day. The staff at the desk could have been a little nicer when that happened, but I don't hold it against them, stuff happens. The mattress had a pretty grody stain down the side, like old barf, no smell though, just gross to see it.

High rates for no reason. Shower was dirty there was still hair from previous person.

Check in was stated to be at 3pm but we were not allowed in until 3:45. Allegedly this was done because the cleaning staff had not cleaned the rooms yet which makes me wonder what were they doing for 4 hours if check out of rooms were at 11am. When I called earlier in the day to inquire about the room, no one had told me that check in would be delayed. My party and I traveled from Philly by car for about 3 hours and looked forward to immediately going to the beach only to be delayed because of negligence and miscommunication. Another person who would be staying on the same floor as us (5th) was also delayed and she had been waiting far much longer than my party, hours in fact. Tamara was the employee I had spoken to when first arriving and when shifts were about to change and I spoke to the next person, Jeremy, he was much helpful and took our concerns with care while Tamara was busy trying to leave and did not relay any of the info to the next staff member, Jeremy. Jeremy said he would give our concerns to the house manager to be handled the next day in regards of a reimbursement. When entering the room, the floor was still wet and created a danger hazard to walk on at first. My partner almost slipped and fell. The next day upon leaving, I spoke with the house manager who claimed the late check in was because the staff was “working very hard” to clean all the rooms and that “check in at 3pm is never guaranteed”. I’ve stayed in a couple of hotels as of late including in Canada and I’ve never had a late check in. To reimburse me, she simply took off the $10 parking fee (a fee which was never stated on booking.com or verbally when we checked in) I find it convenient that she quickly “took that off” and even then so, that didn’t seem to cover the lack of professionalism we and anyone else on floor 5 received that day. Overall, the check in staff besides Jeremy was unprofessional. We would not stay here again.

In room 216 we heard machinery at various times.

The shower was not clean hair

The three reasons we always choose this hotel is the location, price and breakfast. The location is still amazing, just across the street from the beach. We always stay in the same room when we arrived and were told that the rate for this particular room will be increasing because it has a view (it's always had the same view so paying more for zero changes or upgrades seems odd). Lastly, breakfast was a big miss this time around. One of the two pancake makers was out of order the entire time we were there and the last day, the other make stopped working as well. There was very little variety in what was offered for breakfast and the toaster...did not toast. I put a slice of bread through 3 times and it barely got warm. Lastly, there was a front desk work who seemed extremely sick on our last day. I hope she's okay. She was coughing and hacking horribly for over an hour just a few feet from the breakfast setup.

I didn't like how the soap in the shower was empty, hand soap was empty at the sink. I mean we had to go ask to replace these but if your cleaning the room prior to someone checking in replace the empty items.

The common area was disgustingly dirty I have never seen seeds chairs tables that had so much dirt and grime. I didn’t even want to sit touch or go near. And honestly, very expensive what you aren’t given scratchy towels that aren’t very big cheap toilet paper… No bacon at breakfast not everyone eats sausage that is watery. The eggs looked green.
