At the time of the booking, I had specifically emailed the property to inform them that my parents are in their late 70s, one severely vision impaired and the other with mobility issues , and to allocate a room that is accessible by an elevator and close to the restaurant. At no point did they inform me that the elevator was not functioning. I would have never have booked this for my parents had I known. They allocated a room on the third floor which my mother struggled to access with her mobility issues. They promised them the elevator would be fixed but by the second day I had enough and booked my parents in another property. Following checkout, my parents had left the hotel when my mother noticed her gold earring was missing. They promptly returned but was prevented from checking the room they had just vacated. Such a shady thing to do. The gold ornament is as good as gone as no one called from the hotel to return it. Cleanliness was very poor - bathroom wasn't cleaned and a top sheet was not provided. Blanket used by heaven knows how many people was given. They had to ask for a top sheet and for the bathroom to be cleaned. Overall a disappointing stay.

Pros:

On booking.com it says that Madras Inn has a 24/7 reception. We booked quite short term just an hour before getting there in the middle of the night. So understandably no one was expecting us. Still the staff woke up when we called just to check us in and give us our room. That was very kind.

Cons:

It is a basic place and has everything needed but nothing more. The fan is quite loud. Other than that it's good for the price. Breakfast is typical south Indian and tasty.
Unfortunately the room did not have a window with a view outside.

Bij aankomst geen lakens en te weinig handdoeken. Ontbijt heel onhandig opgezet (1 tafel voor 6 personen voor 10 kamers?), en heel beperkt (zowel zuid Indiaas als continentaal). Sloom en ongeïnteresseerd personeel.

Agréable séjour dans un petit hôtel bien placé et à un tarif raisonnable.
Pros:

Excellent emplacement dans un quartier résidentiel proche de Mylapore. Excellent restaurant à 400 m (the Canton) et très bon petit déjeuner-buffet. Très bon accueil du gérant, personne fort sympathique et aidante. Petit hôtel agréable.

Cons:

Il faudrait deux serviettes de bain au lieu d’une. La salle de petit déjeuner pourrait être équipée de plus de tables et chaises voire prendre celui-ci sur la terrasse attenante.

Budget friendly good stay option
Pros:

The breakfast was good and the staff was very welcoming. The location was good as it is in the centre of the city everything is a quick ride away.

Cons:

They can improve on cleanliness department as the white bedsheet had turmeric stains.

Did not feel comfortable.
Pros:

No hot water in the bathroom. Mohammed does not respect women. Behavior and way of talking has to be corrected.

Cons:

No hot water in bathroom. Bathroom door is dangerous. When you open the door it can cut your feet.

Beware of bed bugs ,untidy sheets , less water
Pros:

Location. Is in one of the best localities in Chennai and has an outward good appearance. The peon was somewhat ‘empathetic. He helped me carry my bags. Outward appearance of hotelier this serviced apartment is good

Cons:

Bed bugs . Now my face is swollen since I came . Still not reduced. No hot water. Chennais heat is passed off as hot water for bath. Not enough water for toilet usage. When complained they said that’s how it is. A/c not continuously working. Just an ok a/c.
