Managed by a private host
Not a lot.
The room I was in had no lock or latch on the door. The light switch was outside the room. There was a lamp in the room but it needed a new bulb. When I asked I was told I have to buy it, which I did. I was paid back. The room while not very dirty was not clean and the draw next to the bed was full of sweet papers and rubbish from a previous client. When I left I could not put the front door key back in the security box because the number had been changed.
Comfortable, friendly owners
Couldn't find some facilities, for example oven gloves and dishcloths. Pillows were too thick.
The host was very welcoming and really made me feel welcome. Although it was a shared family home, it never felt like my presence was an annoyance to them.
The room was small but very well looked after.
Parking was a challenge at the best of times. I found myself driving around to find somewhere to park.
The main reason I went for the room was the en suite
The only thing I didn’t like was no lock in the door.
The property was modern clean and just great I could not fault it
Nothing
My third working week staying here. It’s always clean, quiet and very comfortable. I haven’t used the kitchen or living room but everything you need is there. Every week I arrived to fresh sheets and a clean room. The bathroom is exceptionally clean.
Nothing to not like in the property.
My third stay here. It’s quiet, clean and modern. I keep myself to myself and aside from the odd closing door I don’t really hear the other people staying in the house.
Parking is a bit of a problem in the immediate area. Having stayed in Watford a few times now I’m getting used to driving around trying to find a parking space.
This is my second stay at the property. This time I booked a double room instead of the single. It was perfect! Everything you need is in the house. It is very clean, modern and tidy. And quiet. Aside from the odd door opening and closing I was hardly aware anyone else was in the house. Excellent!
The lady who looks after the house even provided an extra pillow in the single room after my last review.
As happened last time, I arrived after dark and also work until after dark. I couldn’t read the numbers on the key lock outside. I’m sure this isn’t a problem for anyone else, it’s just me!
The family was really loud at night and at the morning too. The shared places were messy.
The house is very very clean and modern. It’s very quiet. I didn’t use the kitchen but it looked as if everything you need is in there. The bathroom was modern, clean and tidy. It is shared house but I basically kept myself to myself in my room and it didn’t feel like it.
It was so nice I have booked to stay there again.
I couldn’t see the numbers on the key box outside when it was dark. Even with my glasses on and using my phone light!
I may have to take a second pillow for my next stay as there was only one in the small bedroom. I could have asked for one but didn’t. Parking is a bit of a raffle, the later you leave it the less spaces on the street there are, but that’s Watford.
