A gem of a hotel
Pros:

A really lovely hotel. The staff were very attentive and lovely. The food was excellent with a good selection and variety on the menu. The member of staff on reception went out of her way to ensure I had everything I needed and dealt with a special request efficintly.

Cons:

Nothing the hotel was clean, comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. Thankyou to the team at The Ely.

I wouldn't go back...
Pros:

Good location, excellent service.

Cons:

Shower in the bath is lethal, so slippery and such a terrible shape. Bad smell, probably damp in the bathroom.
Poor quality food, restaurant seemed a bit overpriced.

Pros:

Room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was very smart and pleased to see that there was bath as well as a shower.

Cons:

Room was a bit dark & the lights did not give enough extra light to do close work. WiFi was a bit hit & miss & very slow

Almost OK but not quite..
Pros:

Good tea and coffee options in the rooms. Food was pretty good.

Cons:

Noisy with loose windows. Practical but a the sofa bed was poor and very uncomfortable.

Avoid Room 5
Pros:

This is the second time we have stayed here as it’s convenient and the pub next door serves food.

Cons:

Despite booking months ago we were allocated room 5 which is just by the doors to access most bedrooms so it can be noisy. The real problem however is that room 5 has damp. It smells and even the items I have just unpacked now home, smell of damp.

Excellent stay at the Ely Hotel
Pros:

Room nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Very nice breakfast. Easy parking.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay
Pros:

We had dinner at The Ely twice and both times the food and service was exceptional. We had breakfast the day we left and the choice was good and the cooked breakfast was very good.
