Huge rooms, we had two booked. Mum had a great disabled bathroom.
Comfy beds with a nice view over the beautifully landscaped putting green.
Excellent breakfast choices plus hot buffet with an additional menu selection made to order for a small charge.
Lovely choice at evening dinner too. Good quality ingredients and staff couldn't have been more pleasant.
Nothing to fault at all. I do wish we had time to use the pool and walks around the site. Next time hopefully.
Beautiful location, very much enjoyed the wonderful grounds the hotel is set in. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We dined in the hotel for all four nights of our stay as the food was very tasty!
Some of the decor is getting a little tired but it didn't impinge on the enjoyment of our stay. This didn't extend to all areas though.
Location is good
Not nearly enough staff and the place is in need of maintenance in many respects
Set in the most stunning grounds, lots of places to walk. Staff all very friendly and the rooms were very large and surprisingly cool even when it was 27 degrees outside !
The breakfast was underwhelming, would benefit from offering nuts, seeds and dried fruit for those on a vegan diet.
The staff need to be proactive at breakfast is selling the made to order food, too much reliance on the buffet.
The bedroom decor is looking tired and in need of a refresh although very clean. The bedroom doors are absolutely awful as the type of handle means its impossible to close the door quietly from the outside!
Lovely hotel situated close to the Galloway Forest. Room was very spacious with plenty of towels and toiletries. Bath robes were also supplied. Pool area was was clean and very relaxing. Dinner menu was slightly limited if you were staying a few days, but food was very nice.
Nothing to dislike, but would have preferred a shower to a bath, which is purely personal. Also, there was nowhere close to dressing table to plug in hair straighteners and no full length mirror, but these were minor issues.
Beautiful place and surroundings
Staff were efficient, however lacked personal touch as a smile would have been good
Everything about the stay in Cally Palace was magnificent from start to finish. From initial greeting by the staff and then being stunned by the beauty of the hotel and all it had to offer. The grounds along with the many entertaining things to do on the hotel grounds, i.e. pitch and putt, snooker, pool and the swimming pool and spa facilities. We had a wonderful stay.
Having to leave!!!
Enjoyable breakfast and diner with a spacious room and good leisure facilities in beautiful setting.
Small point - not keen on blue paintwork in coridors to room! Looks dated. Sorry!
Reception told me they had no single rooms available and I could have a double room with no breakfast for £180. I took out my phone and booked it for £135 I booking.com and got a single room.
Beautiful location, enjoyed the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna.
I stayed in room 111 which was very spacious with 2 bathrooms but unfortunately the mattresses had seen better days and were dipped in the middle. I ended up sleeping in the join of the zip which was disappointing.
Grounds were beautiful, good location, staff extremely helpful
Everything looked like it needed to be refurbished
Breakfast was good, we don’t do Full cooked breakfasts ( for which there appeared plenty on Buffet).
The Porridge came fresh from the Kitchen . Plus - Took the additional £3.50 supplementary options of Eggs Benedict & Avocado Mash .
Incredible location. Staff
Needed a handy bedside light. Only problem. Reading and at night. A plan of the grounds would have been great. So hope to come back
Great location, peaceful, great food and very pleasant staff made you feel very welcome especially the Lady on front desk who showed us around. We’ll be back . Thank you
Super quiet and relaxing.
Excellent surroundings, golf course and forest
Large rooms
WiFi virtually non existent.
The location is outstanding and the hotel is reached through woods. The female receptionist went out of her way to make us and our dog welcome by showing us a low level route to our room. We had an issue with a tap and it was fixed within half an hour.
Nothing.
