Most of the Staff were very friendly. Room was big and clean but our shower leaked so extra towel matts used.
Location was spot on, visual appearance was very good. Ample parking facilities and great acceptance for our four legged friends. Hats off to the cleaning staff as they were very helpful when we met them. Plenty of refills for the tea, coffee & hot chocolate. Never liked the methods used for milk when in Hotels so always bring a pint.....
Breakfast, good food choices but poor application, never had one hot breakfast, warmed food will always cool long before it hits your palate. Think they should take off the food allowance procedure as it gives the wrong impression. Room rate with bed and breakfast should be just that.... Mind you i focused on the Toast so you cant go wrong there.

Info from staff wasn't correct re towels for swimming.
Having said we wanted a dessert, no one came back to take our order. We ended up just leaving.
Barman shouting across the room that I hadn't given card info at desk. I shouted back that I had. He went off to check then shouted from bar that I had. At no point did he quietly approach me to sort out apparent issue . It could have been very embarrassing.
The grandeur of the building and rooms, the location, the leisure facilities, the food and the staff were all outstanding.

Don't quite know where to start. Our room was dated and dingy the bath was stained. The shower was rubbish The lighting awful.
The breakfast was average. The room felt like a care home. The staff on reception were not professional or friendly.
I think it is the worst hotel that I have ever had the misfortune to stay in

staff were lovely and place was spotless.
the dining room is a bit large and cold to sit for meals as it is a function room with half of it unused. Little unhomely but the room is welcome.
some of the decor is a bit dated. The curtain were ripped in our room.
the disabled bathroom in room 16 had a low toilet which does not suit disabled people. The room needs a large bin to accommodate disabled sanitary items.
i would suggest having removable side bar for the beds also to give reassurance to disabled people.
there were no signs for disabled access or parking for the hotel. access was via a steep wooden ramp which was green and looked slippy. car access to this was a narrow path with no turning. I had to turn the car on the grass.

Couldn't get dinner until 815 don't know why as the dinning room wasn't bust at all

Grand old country property.
Beautiful building and would have looked stunning when it was first opened however, like a great many of these old hotels, the upkeep is so expensive things get neglected.
Beautiful location.Good food and friendly staff.
The room was spacious and comfortable. Surroundings were peaceful with mature trees, lakes and greens. The staff were friendly and helpful and food was exceptional. Leisure facilities were brilliant.
