Gray's Manor - Lake Memphremagog

We did not get the room we asked for. We were put in the nook suite, and we had asked for a balcony suite. There were a number of small things that would’ve helped a lot. The luggage racks for bags and suitcases. Everything had to go on the floor. The toiletries in the shower were empty except for the conditioner. Extra hooks and a hanging rack for wet towels in the bathroom would have been great a small nightlight for the bathroom and a light blocking curtain for the east facing window. All small things, but felt large when we were in the room. It was decorated very nicely and we really do want to come back and hope that these few small things can be tweaked. It also would’ve been nice to have a couple of mugs and glasses in the room without having to go down to the kitchen to get them. Again, not a big deal, but would’ve been nice.

Coffee machine available with coffee and tea, but there were no cups in room..There was a soap/shampoo/ conditioner dispenser in shower that was empty, and this was not realized until in shower. The parking leaves a lot to be desired. I cannot imagine where people would park, if all rooms were occupied. These things did not affect our stay, but were noticed.

No soap in the shower, need shades in the windows in the Nook room and better coffee pods

No curtains / blinds in the nook room.

I didn’t dislike anything, but if I had to make a suggestion, I would add blinds to the nook room as the sun shines in the room early.

The most challenging thing is that the inn was pitch black when I arrived. I drove past it. It didn't seem open and in the dark the driveway and parking area are less clear. A little spooky for me but I was thinking if I were a woman or a non-English speaking person staying there for the first time, or anyone with a trauma history, the entrance to getting into one's room might have been quite challenging. Once I got there and put the lights on and got into bed everything was fine - although it was still a little unnerving to sleep in a space with accommodation for that many guests by myself

With no light blocking curtains on the East facing window, I was awakened by a blast of sunlight at 6:30 in the morning. I improvised a curtain using a throw blanket so I could sleep until my alarm rang.

There were many ladybugs in the room which generally remained in the windows, however a couple kept making their way into the sink and needed to be scooped out to avoid washing them down the drain.

Still waiting for the refund and staff does not respond

We visited during winter, and unfortunately the driveway was not plowed adequately for the number of cars of the guests at the house. This resulted in us getting blocked in by another guest on one of our ski mornings and had to wake them up to have them move the car, which we felt awful about. This property is completely un-manned, the keeper is remote. I have a feeling we wouldn't have had this issue if there was an innkeeper onsite.
