Great location on the main road through Gairloch with views over the water. Beach access via steps in front of the hotel. Village stores and restaurants a short walk away. Very photogenic building.
Seems that tour buses comprise the major clientele. So if you happen to be in the restaurant at their mealtime it’s a free for all. The tours also make a lot of noise in the parking lot when they leave or arrive, so sea facing rooms have that issue. Our room was sea facing. It was large and high ceilings, but needed repair. The paint was bubbling on one exterior wall, so who knows what mold lay beneath. Furnishings were cheap, below IKEA level. The large windows had white louvered blinds but no curtains installed in the curtain rails, so it was impossible to block out the sun. This is an issue in the summer when days are long and the sun sets late. Also, our room was not made up. We left the room early on a Sunday and returned after lunch. When we asked at the front desk whether they would make up the room, they told us quite rudely that if we wanted our room made up we needed to have hung the hang tag saying so on the door, but we were too late to do that anyway. This “policy” was not conveyed previously. They grudgingly gave us one fresh towel. The buffet breakfast was ok, but not great. For instance the fruit salad had a lot of watermelon, and the tour bus crowd picked out any fruit that wasn’t watermelon, leaving only a watery sludge. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night and found it to be mediocre. For example, the fish and chips was mushy, and the salmon was overcooked.

Extremely rude Spanish male receptionist. Dirty room. Ceiling mould and plaster and paint falling from ceiling from unrepaired leak.
More a 1930s hovel than a hotel. Will not recommend nor stay here again. Considered too expensive for very substandard twin room.

Clean and comfortable room in a lovely location.
No boiling hot water at breakfast as the urns didn't hold great heat. Therefore a lukewarm cup of tea and coffee. Not a great start to the day.

The location of the hotel is very good. The views from the hotel are beautiful and the breakfast was very nice.
Our room was very tired. There was paint peeling off the Scotia and the lentil above one window was so rotten. It was bold and appeared to be full of damp.

Location is so beautiful. Our room was one that had been renovated to a high standard. The colour choices were very relaxing.
Staff were friendly. Breakfast and evening meal was very tasty and reasonably priced. Will definitely stay again.
