Very spacious and clean stay
Pros:

The location is a reasonable walking distance to downtown and the old city. The double room is very spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. The shower has good water pressure. The rooms have clothes drying racks which is a nice touch to help dry out your beach gear. The building is newer in the interior and the beds are comfy. We really appreciated the easy check-in that didn't involve meeting someone before a certain time, that way we could arrive as late as possible and just enter to code in the lock box.

Cons:

They claim to have a view but there isn't one. There is an extra fee to do laundry but it is advertised as an amenity that is included. The listing says it is on the ground floor but there is a small staircase of 5 steps that could be an issue for those with mobility concerns. The parking situation is not great, and no direction from the host on where to park. We arrived late and had trouble finding a park nearby, ending up walking a long way. Check out at 9 is a little early for sleepy travellers enjoying all that Alghero has to offer.

Subject: Complaint about stay at “Bingo1” in Alghero, Italy

Hello,
I would like to file a complaint regarding my stay at the accommodation “Bingo1” in Alghero, Italy. The booking was made through Booking.com.
1. The host was extremely rude and disrespectful. When I simply asked for toilet paper, she told me I should buy it myself and that they’re not there to provide toilet paper, breakfast, shampoo, or anything else. The tone was very offensive and unprofessional.
2. Before arrival, we were contacted via WhatsApp and asked to send our IDs immediately to receive check-in details. In that same message, the host said we would have to pay extra for bed linen and towels, although Booking.com clearly stated they were included. After I pointed this out, she replied that it was their mistake and they would give us linen and towels as a “gift.” This felt like an attempt to charge hidden extra fees.
3. The apartment lacked basic essentials (like toilet paper), and the service and communication were very poor throughout our stay.
4. At the end, we were asked to pay the city tax in cash (8 euros). I left 10 euros in cash, but later the host claimed that no money was found and falsely accused me of lying or committing fraud. I was not given any receipt for the payment, which seems very questionable.

Please investigate if this behavior and the handling of extra charges align with Booking.com’s standards. I’m happy to provide screenshots, photos, and further evidence if needed.

Pros:

The room was a good size, and it was handy to be able to use the kitchen. There are 3 rooms with a shared bathroom, which had a good shower. The location is good, with a 10 minute walk to downtown Alghero. The vicinity of the accommodation is not very charming, but it seemed safe and local people were friendly.
