Nothing
The hotel was very comfortable and enjoyable.
Very well positioned. Just a short bus ride to Oxford centre. Bus stop just outside the hotel. Breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from.
For supper we had wild mushroom risotto 2 nights running. Compliments to ghe chef and the friendly staff.
Recommendable hotel.
Thank you
Nothing to complain about
La partie hôtelière et le restaurant
Les vestiaires de l’espace loisir (piscine)
We had adjoining rooms for my family on ground floor. Both very comfortable with a nice view out over the fields
We have an electric car. Seemed to be only 2 operable charging points (there were 4 that we inoperable) in the whole property that we always occupied. £25 a day for parking seemed a bit of a rip off seeing as we were already guests of the hotel.
Good location for our plans.
Having to pay additionally for parking. Staff welcome etc. not great - they were consistently straight into asking if we’d paid the parking, registered the car, checked in online, or if we wanted to check out - not smile, good afternoon, welcome, good morning, how was your stay niceties. Disappointing given the fee. Whoever dusts the room needs to do better:
Room was nice and clean. Staff at reception and breakfast were nice. Location is good.
The spa attendant was rather rude and didn't make us feel welcome.
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing one of the best aromatherapy massages offered by Olivia, and it was truly exceptional from start to finish. What stood out most was her attention to detail. She took the time to understand my preferences and areas of concern, ensuring that the treatment felt personalised rather than routine. She did a great job.
Very close, walking distance to city centre. Saved on ubers everyday.
Room was quite dated.
Aircon like most hotels was noisy due to lack of maintenance so not practical to use at night.
Almost all ceiling spotlights flickered constantly so could only use bedside lamps.
Tv came on one night 2am. Oddly no way to set an alarm or turn anything off.
Maze - our family room was a jungle adventure to get to. Impossible if you were emebrieated from drink!
Great location wonderful facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
The £25.00 over night per night parking fee - really? We were staying there - why - never before have I been charged for on-site parking in a car park where we were staying.
Ample parking. Great location to access Oxford City centre and the river path is a bonus. Well maintained, lovely grounds. Quiet and relaxing. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great.
Nothing.
We regularly come here when we drop/collect our son from Uni. Although the Spires is slightly out of town, it is still walkable to the City Centre and Oxford taxis are reasonable value. We like it because the rooms are clean and comfortable, they have decent parking and they are usually able to accommodate our request for connecting rooms. It also has a good breakfast and bar.
Very little to criticise. The food menu in the evenings is a bit limited but there are so many other options in Oxford I wouldn’t be concerned on that score. Bar can be crowded if they are hosting a function but it doesn’t affect the service much.
