Wonderful old fashioned hotel with a fabulous beach area on the lake. Staff are exceptional, the breakfasts excellent
We had a room at the front overlooking the lake. Would recommend that rather than over the road at the back. We were told it’s closing for refurbishment in the autumn. Hope they don’t spoil its charm.
Historical, well maintained, great location, attentive staff
Tiny room
Everything ! We had the most amazing stay - the location is stunning, the staff fantastic and it’s like going back in time (in the most amazing way).
Nothings we loved everything
The location is unbeatable and the views absolutely stunning. The staff are lovely. Really enjoyed the breakfast, the sunbathing deck area and the free hour boat rental.
It is in need of some TLC, its looking a bit old and shabby.
Both bars are boring and uninspiring thus there is a lack of atmosphere in the evenings. The bar closest to the terrace looks like it should be a private staff galley kitchen rather than a place where guests go to get a drink. For a 5 star hotel i would expect waiter service for drinks when sunbathing on the decking and when lounging on the terrace in the evenings.
Also non hotel guests are allowed to pay to use the sunbathing area however this meant on many occasions there was not enough space for hotel guests.
The views, the location, excellent staff and clean.
Beautiful classic old hotel has character and swimming in lake bled on a hot summers day was lovely
The lakeside deck was great but can get very full and the bar serves in disposable plastic cups - it would be nicer and environmentally friendly to serve in a reusable cup.
Beautiful property with an amazing beach area right on the lake. The breakfast was wonderful. Our room had the best view. I was so happy we ended up staying here. This is the best spot on the lake!
The property is in a prime location with access to the water included, row boats for rental (first hour free), paddle board rental. The view from the waterside balcony was breathtaking. The property is also located right on the trail around the lake. The included breakfast was very good with a few options a la carte and a large buffet spread.
The facility itself was notably dated and in need of upgrading. The facility was mainly clean but worn. The staff were friendly and tried hard but seemed to be under staffed. The key check in and check out process for the rooms (each time) was an inconvenience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but believe the price for the service and property was way too high. I feel like I paid mainly for convenient water access and the view.
Friendly staff
Lakeside location
Old fashioned charm
Breakfast was good but was expecting more considering what we paid
It would’ve been nice to have a decent coffee making machine in the room instead of instant coffee
Krásná poloha hotelu, pláž, skvělá gastronomie, profesionální personál
Hotel samotný už je velmi za zenitem, generální rekonstrukci by potřeboval jako sůl, naštěstí to vynahradila skvělá michelinská restaurace, milá obsluha, čistota
Brilliant, kind staff. Amazing spot, food was excellent, breakfast and dinner. Loved the views from the balcony over the lake, especially enjoyed the bathing area and you could tell regulars come back year upon year which made it feel extra special. Spent part of our honeymoon here and it was wonderful. Will hold a special place in our hearts.
Nothing
Beautiful view of lake!
Nothing
Location excellent. Room came with free 1 hr hire of row boat.
Decor is dark, tired, and sparsely furnished. Carpet threadbare and stained.
Not deserving of small luxury hotels of the world. Far from luxury and cheapening the brand.
We booked a double room. We were given a dingy dark room facing the road. We upgraded to a lake facing suite for an extra 110 euro per night in an attempt to to salvage the situation.
No à la carte in any of the restaurants. Minimum 5 courses.
Location unreal, sun bed area, never felt crowded, staff lovely, old worldly which suited me
Nothing
The location of the hotel, directly on Lake Bled with direct swimming access and beautiful views from all terraces and dining areas is definitely unsurpassable - basically, this is what you pay for, and why we chose this hotel in the first place. So it is 10 on 10 for location. Breakfast is also excellent, as is the service. The car valet parking is a bonus, and reasonably priced at Euro 8 a night, even though in reality your car is parked on the street.
The hotel is old, with very dingy interiors. The linen is threadbare, the curtains in our room were filthy [I had to wash my hands at once every time I touched them], there are no blackout curtains or shutters so the room is filled with light by 6am. Lighting is inadequate, mattress is lumpy and needs to be thrown out, shower is in an old bath, and toiletries and toilet paper of the poorest quality. This last bit I found inexcusable for a hotel that advertises itself as 5 star!! On check-out we were told the hotel will close for refurbishment in September, but considering what we paid, toiletries, curtains, mattresses etc should definitely have been better for our stay.
