Pros:

Thermal spa was beautiful amazing scenery & good expierence overall. The hotel its self is quite nice rooms are spacious not the cleanest, stuff left under bed from previous stayers. There were 9 of us on which they did secure an amazing room for us to eat, the food was ok apart from some ingredients being frozen( the menus are quite small in which frozen goods should not be an option with such little choice. Breakfast was not great slimy undercooked eggs & sour butter 🫣

It was very for a couple of days. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly.
Pros:

We liked the staff. Everyone was very friendly.

Cons:

We were in the stables. We couldn’t put the heating on and the lights didn’t seem to work properly.

Pros:

The setting and buildings are charming. The mature trees on the grounds are stunning!

Cons:

We made a reservation for dinner before we even arrived and they didn't have it. They took 90 minutes to bring us food once we sat down. They said the kitchen lost our order. This put a real damper on our experience at Bellinter House. Also the windows of the bedroom only open 2 inches and it was a warm night...hard to sleep.

You will struggle to entertain children if you are staying here, but as a wedding venue this place is something else…
Pros:

Fantastic location. Beautiful grounds. This is an adult wedding venue and not a leisure family holiday place.

Cons:

None of the leisure facilities are child friendly - especially the pool. There is no gym.

Bellinter Express
Pros:

The food, staff and room were all excellent. We had dinner in Prestons which was amazing. Hot tub was very clean and was pre-heated in advance of our arrival which was a nice touch.

Express is a unique experience when a country house stay is a dime a dozen in Ireland.

Cons:

We stayed in the Express at a premium price. It is advertised as a secluded location away from the main house, but in reality you are staying beside the main access road and carpark. Very little in the way of privacy. Guests can walk right up to it and have a look if they want, with only tiny signs asking people to keep away.

There is a deck with a hot tub and table. Would be romantic if it wasn't for the fact that it is visible by the public from 3 sides.

Appreciate the location was probably picked out of necessity, but even a little bit more effort to make it private would be an improvement.
