Die Lage
Das Hotel ist so in die Jahre gekommen. Beim betreten des Balkons hat man schon ein komisches Gefühl. Das Frühstück war das schlechteste auf unserer Rundreise. Für den Preis eine Katastrophe.
Great position on the promenade, lovely well appointed room, extremely very friendly attentive staff, great facilities.
Beautiful Hotel!
No comment to make.
Excellent position on the seafront.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Opposite the beach
Very dated in need of a upgrade.
Great location. Friendly helpful staff.
Only parking for about 6 cars, it is advertised as free but mostly no space available. There is public car park close by but this is expensive and usually full during the day.
The hotel has a lovely quaint feel. My room (a single deluxe, sea view) was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was fully table service, but everything as expected food-wise. Serving staff were helpful.
The hotel is over the road from the beach so a perfect setting.
Gavin helped take my bags to my room and kindly noticed the balcony table needed cleaning (messy from a seagull). He returned to clean it within minutes.
I felt the receptionist on checking in was not terribly friendly. Rather brusque. I like efficient but friendly would have been nice. Especially as a single traveller.
Water bottles can be refilled from a water station but this is not terribly well sign posted - I only found it as a resident was heading with a bottle and I followed! However, this is very useful.
The view was outstanding. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Suren was super helpful at breakfast and gave lots of useful tips.
We had room 4 which had a stunning balcony, view, sitting area and comfy bed.
The sea breeze coming through in the evening was perfect! Definitely needed in this beautiful weather.
Nothing.
Staff, location, parking
Was very hot - stay was during 30 degree heatwave, small fan, far too small, room extremely hot. Stayed here many yrs ago with the family, a brusqueness in current staff was not present, and the historic silver service was great, this time felt perfunctory and not special
Location and breakfast good and the service very efficient.
A drastically overpriced Spa....why not a separate charge for a sauna. Am not prepared to pay over £50 for a sauna !!
Sea front room, would have liked a balcony.
Disabled access was limited, not suitable for mobility scooters, lift was very small.
Location and room
Being served by people who were like robots no conversation at all
Lovely food, great location, staff friendly and helpful
lack of parking in the area
Very good. Loved the vegan sausage
Everything was good
Staff and view and bedroom
Breakfast
Clean comfortable bed and friendly staff. Lovely walk in shower as.requested.
Room uncomfortably hot even with a fan that was provided.
Close to seafront and staff very friendly.
Old fashioned the building was drap and needed painting and cleaning.
Highly highly recommend this hotel, if staying in Sidmouth. The whole experience was delightful!!
Its a fabulous old historic building located right on the seafront in the quaint town of Sidmouth.
The Staff are extremely welcoming, professional and engaging. Brilliant from start to finish.
My room was just perfect too....slept with the balcony door open listening to the sea.
The food was amazing and I'm a foodie so 10/10 to the chefs.. and had the half board option with diner and breakfast.
The service staff, both young and old were so polite attentive and generally lovely, giving great waiter service too.
There seems to be a lot of repeat business and I'm not at all surprised and plan on going back again and again myself.
Completely love the place...its quite old fashioned in the most comforting way.
There wasn't a thing I could criticise them about
