Shame all the work was going on, spa was not linked, beware of breakfast rates.
Pros:

Outstanding Property, very well presented. Well staffed, lots of home comforts.

Cons:

Moved sofa in room to make more space, found everything from dog biscuits to hair grips….looks clean on the exterior however needs a deeper clean. Moved fridge to access plug and lots of thick dust and grime.

Comfortable stay in a peaceful location
Pros:

Lovely old period property, which comes with all the bumps and wrinkles. Quiet location in large grounds.

Decent restaurant and wine selection.

Rooms are a good size and bed are comfortable.

Cons:

Service can be hit and miss.

Prachtige rustige locatie. Goed ontbijt, vriendelijke mensen. Heerlijke kamer, upgrade zonder naar te vragen en uiteindelijk een week gebleven ipv 3 dagen.

We haven’t visited for a long time. Such a beautiful building and setting, peaceful and relaxing. We had forgotten how lovely Bishopstrow is!
A real touch to be greeted by a bottle of bubbly on ice in our room, and card. Incredibly thoughtful and really made our time extra special. Being busy working parents we haven’t truly appreciated time together in a while and lovely to be able to spend time away at the hotel. Spa was bliss, meal in the restaurant in the evening was faultless and breakfast was delicious. Very happy to accommodate dietary restrictions, nothing was a hassle to the staff we encountered.
Staff were so friendly and chatty. Polite, well mannered and lovely to see that staff enjoy their place of work.
Definitely won’t leave it too long in returning (if the kids let us!).
