Trees n Tigers is not a hotel or a resort, it is a lodge. And yet, they pulled out 5-star service at every turn.
Starting with the rooms/tents, they were super luxe. I could not have imagined a tent experience could be like that. The furniture and fixtures were of excellent quality, and we loved just hanging out in our rooms when we didn't have safaris planned.
We opted for the family suite, which is essentially 2 tents with a shared deck and a plunge pool. Every morning, we woke up to a mango tree filled with birds. It was magical.
The lodge has inclusive meals, which are served family style. Every day, there is a new cuisine. The food was spectacular, and clearly used the best ingredients. We never even looked at the a la carte menu.
There is little to do in the lodge itself, although there is a lounge and activities are available. However, we were content to just relax and have downtime when not off to a safari.
The truly exceptional part of this stay was the service. Even before I reached, I had someone reach out to ask for food allergies and preferences, safari bookings, and travel times. I was amazed to have things done for us without asking. For instance, for every safari (even the early morning ones), they packed a cooler with water, lemonade, and snacks. Every single time. I didn't even ask. To say I was blown away is an understatement.
Finally, I loved the obvious commitment to sustainability. Not only were the materials used reusable, wellmade and sturdy, but the tents themselves blended well with their surroundings. Also, 90% of the staff is local, and that was a real joy to witness.
I have only one grouse with our stay, and it was tied to when we visited. We visited in mid-April, where the temperatures climbed to mid-40s.
Because we opted for a few afternoon safaris, we weren't on premised during the day. The tents got super hot in our absence, and we came back to our electronics being super hot. Even though they were turned off. The safe was too small to fit laptops, so we had to store them in bags.
The Lodge was stunning and our safari tent was unreal. The pool was exactly what was needed after a safari tour in the heat and the food was so delicious we wish we had room for more after every meal! The organisation for our safaris was excellent and a special thanks to Jonathon, our naturalist, for making each safari special. The service at the Lodge was incredible. Jay Jay was fantastic at ensuring we had everything we needed. The welcoming, friendly, and helpful nature of ALL staff at the Lodge really made this place special. You guys are amazing! Thank you for an unforgettable start to our honeymoon.
