Sama Sama makes you feel at home as soon as you step through the door. It is comfortable, convenient and overall the perfect stay. We opted for the one day trek and our two guides were amazing! Our transportation from the airport and onward was incredibly smooth and easy (thanks Dedek!). If you are planning on visiting Bukit Lawang, stay with Sama Sama!

Meine Zeit bei Ema, Yakup und ihren Kindern war eines der absoluten Highlights meiner Reise durch Sumatra. Vom ersten Moment an wurde ich unglaublich herzlich empfangen. Sie haben dafür gesorgt, dass ich mich rundum wohl und willkommen gefühlt habe. Auch haben sie alles für mich organisiert: Flughafen-Transfer, Dschungel-Trekking, Tagesausflug zur Amorphophallus, Weiterfahrt nach Berastagi.. Ema hat leckeres Frühstück für mich zubereitet und mich zu einem tollen Warung mit lokalen Köstlichkeiten mitgenommen.

Ich habe eine 2 Nächte/3 Tages Tour im Dschungel gemacht und fand alles daran toll! Meine Guides Olky und Prem waren großartig, so auch die Gruppe, die unser Essen zubereitet hat. Nächstes Mal würde ich noch länger unterwegs sein wollen.

Yakup and his family were fantastic - we were made to feel at home INSTANTLY! Amazing communication with us as we navigated from Medan to Bukit Lawang and greeted us with warmth. The room looked exactly like the photos and are incredibly good value for money. We did the day tour with Tommy who looked after us well, showed us many orangutans, monkeys and shared his knowledge of the environment with us. I can’t remember the exact price but it was really good value for money and we were able to ride back through the village down the river on the tubes/tires to finish our day and go for a swim. We had a lovely stay here and even got to name the cat, Prince Harry, and keep our key ring for the room (as we mentioned we liked it)!

This has been the best stay we’ve had so far throughout our travels in South East Asia. Yakup and his wife helped us so much and were so kind to us from the start. The jungle trek with Yakup was amazing. We saw so many orangutans as well as other wildlife and was the most incredibly experience. Tubing down the river was so refreshing and included in the price. Before our trek, Yakup’s wife made us a delicious breakfast accompanied by a coffee, which fuelled us for the beginning of the trek, followed by incredible food and fruit throughout the rest of the day.

The location is amazing. you’re pretty much in the centre so have a very easy walk to either side of the village. You can visit various caves, cafe’s, bars, as well as relax by the river which is a 30 second walk away.

We would highly recommend this place!

Very nice simple wooden room. Bed with mosquito net. The owner is a nice humble guy who supports the local village and nature, e.g. by giving work to people who might otherwise do poaching. He offers great jungle trip to see orangutans. I recommend the room and also the trip, I enjoyed it to the fullest.

Akomodasinya spektakuler, dengan segala yang Anda butuhkan. Sangat bersih. Pemiliknya sangat ramah dan membantu. Selalu memperhatikan untuk membuat masa inap menjadi pengalaman terbaik. Lokasinya fantastis, dekat dengan restoran dan kafe, serta dekat dengan sungai. Kami melakukan trekking seharian bersama pemilik akomodasi dan itu adalah salah satu pengalaman terbaik dalam hidup kami. Dia adalah pemandu bintang 5, menjelaskan segala sesuatu tentang orangutan dan habitat alami mereka, serta hewan lain di hutan. Makan siang dan buah-buahan eksotisnya sangat lezat, dan makan di hutan adalah pengalaman yang unik. Sebagai penutup, perjalanan menuruni lereng adalah puncaknya, dan arung jeram di sungai benar-benar menegangkan. Kami menyukai Bukit Lawang, tetapi bagian terbaiknya adalah menemukan akomodasi ini dan orang-orang bintang 5 ini. Terima kasih banyak untuk semuanya.

Homestay très bien situé dans Bukit Lawang avec plein d'endroits pour manger très local mais j'ai toujours mangé au même (y compris les petits-déjeuners) à 2 min à pied.
La chambre a une très belle terrasse avec table pour manger et hamacs. Au calme.
La chambre est très simple mais propre et confortable. Eau froide certes mais pas très grave.
Les propriétaires sont super accueillants et ont tout organisé pour moi très très bien. Mon arrivée depuis l'aéroport, le trek de 2j /1 nuit dans la jungle (magnifique expérience) et transfert vers Berastagi.
Tout s'est très bien passé et je recommande cette homestay à 100%.

Tour was great! Plenty of orangutan sightings, guides were perfect and the food was incredible! Trek harder than expected but so worth it. The homestay is also a great location and communication is great. Arranged pick up and drop off from Medan too, appreciated that a lot.

The owner is very nice. He organised everything: the trek (with a very good agency), a bus ticket to lac Toba and help me to come from Medan.
The homestay is in the centre of Bukit lawang. The room has a large terrasse. Very good quality for the price.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in Sama sama Homestay & Trekking. Wir haben 3 Nächte gebucht und waren davon eine Nacht auf der Djungeltour. Diese haben wir direkt mit Sama sama gebucht. Jakub (unser Guide und Vermieter der Unterkunft) war unglaublich freundlich und immer gut drauf. Wir haben die 2 Tage, eine Nacht Djungeltrekking tour gemacht, welche ein Highlight unserer ganzen Reise war. Der Aufenthalt in Bukit Lawang bei Jakub und Sama sama homestay & Trekking war eine unglaubliche Erfahrung, ich kann die Unterkunft und genauso die Trekking tour von Herzen empfehlen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

部屋はファン付きで、4月初旬だと暑くなかった。
トレッキングに行っている間、荷物を預かってくれた。

The owner is very kind and friendly. The room has a fan, which was more than enough for early April. They also offer luggage storage while you're away on a jungle trek.

I love the hammocks on the balcony porch and the new and simple but oh so cosy rooms
