Location
Very disappointing stay. We were not given the room we had paid for, walked in on a couple due to poor room allocation, and the facilities were below standard.
Clean, quiet, and brilliant facilities for hikers!
If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay in Wooler, Arlington House Hotel is a perfect choice. Our room was spotlessly clean and very well-maintained. We loved the kitchenette, which allowed us to put together a lovely cheese platter and enjoy a relaxing evening.
The hotel is incredibly quiet and feels like a calm retreat. It is also exceptionally well-equipped for outdoor enthusiasts, featuring a laundry room, a drying room, and a handy boot room for muddy shoes. We would definitely stay here again!
The location was perfect, right on Wooler high street, central and easy access to areas we wanted to visit. The communications were excellent throughout and we had responses to any questions really fast. The apartment was great, with a small kitchenette area, microwave coffee maker were nice touches. Bathroom is big so is the waterfall shower. No complaints whatsoever and we will book again, if its available, when in the area.
A big thank you to the hosts, highly recommended.
AAAAA+++++++++++
Nothing
It was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. It was close you shops and pubs.
Had a huge TV as I could open the windows.
There was no power point in the bathroom, so I had to stand in the little kitchen to use the dryer. If I had been with a partner, that would have been a bit squishy if he had wanted to get to the kitchen.
The freezer of the fridge had not been defrosted in ages so there was a build up of ice making it hard to put anything in it. I needed to freeze some ice blocks for my medication, and they only just fitted with no room for anything else.
I could not turn up the volume on TV as the remote wouldn't allow this so I couldn't watch TV.
One of the chairs was very loose and when I sat on it and leaned back a little the chairs was wobbly.
Communication was not good. I left 3 messages, one on booking.com and 2 on different land lines asking someone to call me re these issues but no one called back.
There was only 2 hr street parking (Mon-Sat). There was free parking about 500 meters away which was NOT suitable for someone with mobility issues. If I had been notified at the time of booking that I had to walk that distance with bags or that I would gave to being the car round, unload my bags, then drive yo the parking lot and walk back to the accommodation, I would NOT have booked here for 2 nights.
There was also a large patch of mold on the ceiling which I put down to me NOT feeling very well during my stay.
The lid of the sugar container was broken.
The room was perfect and had everything that we needed for our one night stay whilst walking along St Cuthberts Way.
The whole thing. The hotel was lovely. The location was fantastic.
Nothing. Would highly recommend
Beautiful room, modern, clean and comfortable
Nothing. It was great
Very comfortable bed and very attractive spacious room with table to sit at as well as armchair. Very spacious spotless bathroom. High quality bedding & towels. Checkin process very easy.
No instructions for free wifi. Just 1 milk
sachet & no capsules for coffee machine.
Location was good and the rooms were clean.
One of the rooms had no curtains or blind, only a piece of voile. The second room took over half an hour to gain access due to a battery problem with the key pad and the time for someone to respond. On entering, the room was very foisty smelling and had a big damp patch on the ceiling. It was however clean.
Very stylish and newly decorated. Comfy beds and very quiet. The shower was superb and the kitchenette facilities were very much appreciated
The electronic key pads to enter didn’t work for us or other guests. The owners did respond however.
Nice clean and comfortable and quiet in great location
No complaints
Very stylish rooms. Comfortable bed. Hot shower
I think calling this a hotel is a bit of a stretch. Its more like serviced rooms. Everything is done remotely. It wasnt very clean. Hair in shower. Bin hadn't been emptied. No toilet roll. Our second room didn't have a blind so hard to sleep. Kitchen area lacked some basics.
Really convenient and easy access.
Could do with a couple of maintenance jobs doing, but nothing to worry about
A great location, with a nice shower and comfortable bed. Albeit small, the furnishings of the room were nice and well kept
We did not receive our check in information until an hour or so before we were meant to check in. When we tried calling and texting the emergency number provided, we heard nothing back - only to find that the number we had been provided had changed.
The blinds in the room were paper thin. This meant that not only did we not sleep well due to the street light right outside the room, but we were woken up before 6am as the sun rose.
The room was also described to have a kitchen, which we later found consisted of a kettle, mini fridge and coffee machine (but no pods). We had already bought food to cook (just microwave meals) but could not cook these in the room. A sign on the back of the door said that there was a communal kitchen which we could not find (we assumed it had been turned into another room). By this point all the pubs in the village had stopped serving food so we ended up at the kebab shop and much of the food we bought was wasted.
The property was well located, clean and the communication for the self check-in was very good.
It would have been helpful if there was some toilet paper available and if the main light worked.
I found the place really cosy, functional, and convenient. Cleanliness was mostly good, and the host was fairly good with communicating throughout the stay and before as well. The 72h car park at the end of the street was a handy backup. Washing machine and dryer were helpful additions too.
The front parking was completely full when I arrived. The carpet was also a bit mucky, and no pods were provided for the coffee machine.
