Lili Stay by the beach

Sometimes its a bit noisy from nearby resturant in the evening and also stray dogs on the beach which not always are calm.

Firstly, the picturesque beach it advertises itself as being next to is nottt the beach that is there. It’s next to a type of fishing beach were local fisherman store their boats and stuff. The beach is very smelly and has lots of plastic and rubbish along its shore and after initially looking at the beach we never went back. This was super disappointing for me as it was the main reason I booked this accommodation over the various others in Penang that were similarly priced yet seemed much nicer. The fisherman also have their dogs off leash in the car park of the accommodation which can be a little daunting if you’re not an animals person.

If you make the mistake of booking this place and are given room 7 immediately request a change in room. The room had mold and signs of damp on the ceiling, the furniture was quite battered and dirty. Just an overall unclean and not nice environment to come to when first arriving at your accommodation after a long day of travelling.

We requested a change in room and were given another room instead but upon looking at the sheets there were blood stains on the mattress topper and the furniture was still quite battered and dirty.

The place is generally just not very well maintained at all. A lot of things need replacing and clearly they have a damp issue that needs resolving. The owner just wasn’t great. Yes he allowed the change in room after us making it clear we were planning to leave the accommodation, but to try and put us in that room when it is in that state and there were clearly other rooms available was wrong.

The new room we were put in was a little better as I said, however it still had the blood stains and the dirty furniture. It’s only because the lovely housekeeper came and swapped the mattress, topper and sheets that we even stayed there.

some idiot smoke in the room, and the ventilation system caused all other rooms to get contaminated with toxic gases.

There’s nothing at all to say where it is. Looked a bit of a building site down stairs, the room is about as basic as can be. The location whilst staying it’s by/on the beach is vaguely true in that there is a tiny section of beach but mainly guarded by the stray dogs. There’s nothing really by the property, except for a cafe that served very good coffee but ultimately seems really really out of place, it was a surprise to find it there

The location of the property is a 25 minute walk away from the main area and has no restaurants or shops near by. The property was difficult to find as there is no signs outside or inside the building, we had to go into the downstairs cafe to ask where it was. Upon arrival our room had ants, however the staff were amazing and cleaned the entire room and replaced the bedsheets, we never seen any after that.
