I’m not sure if others have had the same problem, unfortunately my bad review is because I never received my refundable deposit back after my stay. I’ve communicated with the property multiple times, they told me their system to refund isn’t working and they have now stopped answering my requests. I want to warn others not to stay here for this reason. I’m out $100 when I did nothing wrong. This is a SCAM!
The property was clean, the room cozy, and in an excellent central location, but had a lovely neighborhood feel with lots of greenery, restaurants and convenience, stores. The property had an elevator, which was very helpful for heavy suitcases. The doormen and the rest of the staff were polite and accommodating.
I am writing to prepare people for the damage deposit, which is stated on the Booking website. It states it will be paid by credit card, and refunded upon checkout. The person who checked me in, did not carry a credit card machine, or a cash receipt book, and I was unexpectedly pressured to pay this deposit in Mexican pesos, in cash. In fact, many people may not be carrying that amount of cash, and it turned out to be an awkward situation. Needless to say, I did not wish to pay in cash, without a receipt, but the hotel did not want to scan my credit card either, as the awkwardness continued, until we agreed that I would pay the deposit by the hotel link.
More than a week after vacating, I reminded the hotel about returning my deposit, but unfortunately, I did not hear back from the hotel so reached out to Bookings. Could it be that the hotel wished me to forget I had paid a cash deposit so they can pocket the money? Additionally, my deposit went into a bank account, under a computer software store, determined by my bank, which raised more red flags
Additionally, I have never seen a bathroom without a sink so after using the toilet, one must wash their hands in a downpour of water from the shower, or they must use the kitchen sink, which is unhygienic, as kitchen sinks are used for food preparation, and washing up.
The whole process was very stressful, although I did enjoy the stay, in a nice neighborhood. Hopefully, the hotel will rethink their practices to make life much easier for their potential customers.
Well located and clean and comfortable
There were blinds on the windows but they did nothing at all to stop light from coming though so it was bright from the street all night and in the morning it was very very bright. Also there was no fan or AC and it got very warm in the apartment even just by myself in the fall so they really need a way to get some air moving. Also they require a separate deposit which they process in pesos and it took over a week to get that refunded plus because the exchange rate changed in that week I was actually refunded less money that I put down for the deposit so it cost me extra—not a smooth or easy process and one that they should consider changing
