We had a reasonable, comfortable & relaxed stay.
Pros:

The choice was good. I prefer hot plates with hot meals, which at breakfast wasn't the case. We requested a change of room as the one originally given was too dark & claustrophobic. We were given a beter room & the receptionist was very accommodating.

Cons:

A larger lounge as seating filled up. The spa facilities was good although there was no one on reception one morning I went & I couldn't get a towel to dry with afterwards.

Cheaper spa break
Pros:

Friendly staff

Cons:

Very dated and too busy as it's open to the public so the spa is very busy instead of just being guest. Wouldn't come back for these reasons

Disappointing. I've wanted to stay here for a while but it was a bit "faded elegance".
Pros:

The swimming pool was a bit cold but the jacuzzi was lovely. Very helpful girl on the reception there.
We had dinner on our second night & it was very good. My husband had the lamb & said it was delicious.

Cons:

Our room was very basic. We had to book through you & couldn't contact the hotel as it was closed! It would have been nice to be able to contact the hotel as we could have upgraded our room.
The breakfast was ok. Leaky tea urn. My husband had the full English & said the bacon didn't taste right. He was ill which was unfortunate as we were attending a friend's funeral, made it very difficult!

Need more staff
Pros:

Nice area great views staff Jill excellent and Sarah worked on her own serving 45 customers for breakfast as staff shortages.

Cons:

Staff shortages cold swimming pool , and commis chefs do temperature checks on fridges as a fridge was off and so was my wife’s prawn cocktail.

Lovely hotel shame about breakfast
Pros:

The hotel and rhe balcony in our bedroom massive bathroom beautiful location staff were so friendly and helpful excellent facilities massage and afternoon tea worth the money wasn't very busy to . Evening meal was lovely and afternoon was nice to not much on it

Cons:

Breakfast was the worst I ever had sloppy scramble egg didnt know I had a choice of other type of egg till after mt 2nd night . Waited 15 mins for a cup amd a glass 2ns morning my partner and I shared a glass . The items of cooked breakfast ran out had to stand around and wait and 1 morning I didn't even get beans or hash browns . Really think there should be a proper coffee and tea machine and my tea was freezing . Because of this I wouldn't stay again shame cause everything else was great

Not the best. Don’t think I would go back.
Pros:

Set in a lovely picturesque location.

Cons:

Room very shabby. Carpet was dirty, worn and threadbare around the edges. A lot of stains on walls and ceiling. Mismatch old furniture.
Spa was not good. Absolutely freezing. Pool was freezing. Everything was worn, old, cracked and broken.
Restaurant food was nice. But wow service was slow. Only us and 2 other tables in. Drinks took half and hour to get to us. Starter had already come out by time we got drinks. Plates from other tables hadn’t been cleared. Didn’t get offered dessert menu so we left. So did the table next to us. Bumped into people who we know said they didn’t get there desserts at all. They had ordered them and had been forgot about and then got told kitchen had closed so they couldn’t get them.
