Friendly team; excellent buffet varieties; great layout of resort and lobby
Potential to improve/ display various spice levels on food. …most of them were high spicy on our 2 days
Aliya Resort & Spa is an oasis in the middle of the jungle. The grounds are beautiful and the people are even more so. The staff was attentive to our needs and our kids felt comfortable and welcome! Piyasiri knew their drink orders by day 2 of the trip and was so nice to them. Akash the lead naturalist took us on a Safari that my kids LOVED! We saw so many elephants and he timed the trip perfectly. The staff thought ahead and assured we had a nice lunch for the ride. The spa services were amazing as well. Mali my masseuse was professional and amazing. Lastly, huge kudos to Alisha for looking out for us the entire trip! From the moment she knew we’d arrive late for dinner she ensured that we had food waiting for us to checking in throughout the trip to ensure any issues were resolved. I look forward to experiencing this wonderful resort again in future travels
המקום עצמו נקי, מטופח עם נוף עוצר נשימה. הצוות אדיב וניכר שחשוב לכולם שחווית השהות שלנו תהיה מצויינת.

היה מושלם
The property is set on lovely grounds with a view of Sigiriya. The rooms are spread on along pathways. The problem is that these are not well lit and as I found out can be unsafe with national guides allowed to stay on the premises. Having to experience one of these guides being sexually inappropriate was quite uncomfortable and concerning as you would not expect that from a five star hotel.
The food was average, the staff were not very helpful in providing information especially about the included paper making factory and pottery experience. I got some vague information from the assistant manager when I asked which was disappointing.
Beautiful scenery and pool
The buffet dinner was great one night and pretty average the second time, not sure what changed in the kitchen.
Fantastisk servjice and place. Great food and a breath taking view
More service at the pool 😅
Fantastisk servicer og udsigt
Mere service ved pool
Everything exceeded our expectations. This was our first stay in Sri Lanka, and we couldn't have been welcomed more warmly. The staff made us feel genuinely cared for, always attentive without ever being intrusive. The resort is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. A special thank you to Mr. Sampath, who looked after us during almost every meal and always made sure we had our favourite table with the beautiful view of Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rocks. The safari with the resident naturalist was another unforgettable highlight, allowing us to spot several rare species.
Nothing to declare
Un alojamiento muy bonito lo mejor de todo la piscina y las vistas , las habitaciones están limpiar y son agradables camas muy cómodas, añadido el personal super servicial y muy agradable , servicio excepcional
Good location with an amazing infinity pool. Excellent service and you do not feel that you are just a number. Everyone makes your stay so comfortable.
We had a villa with private pool which was excellent. Although dogs were living under the porch and were all the time in the garden which was very disturbing. All the time people were passing behind the garden : a better closed natural fence would be a good solution so that would give the privacy that you are paying for. We had also a lot of internet interruptions, improvements on the WIFI is a need.

We had an amazing stay at Aliya Resort & Spa Sigiriya. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and magical, surrounded by nature, with very well-maintained premises and clean, comfortable rooms.
The service was excellent from the beginning until the end. All the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, always smiling, and ready to help with anything we needed.
A very special mention goes to Alisha Alexander, who made our stay even more memorable. She was incredibly kind, helpful, understanding, and professional throughout our visit. She arranged the birthday room decorations, the thoughtful gifts, the dinner reservation, the birthday dinner decoration, and the cake. Everything was beautifully prepared and genuinely made me feel special. Her attention to detail and care really stood out, and we are very grateful for everything she did for us.
The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent, with a wide variety of choices, from Western food to delicious local Sri Lankan dishes. It was also very important and reassuring for us that the food was 100% halal, which made the experience even more comfortable.
During our stay, I had the chance to celebrate my birthday, and the resort helped make it unforgettable. We did the sunrise experience at Pidurangala, which was breathtaking, followed by breakfast by Thalkote Lake, and later an afternoon safari at Minneriya National Park. Our guide, Ranmal, was fantastic, very professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about birds, animals, and wildlife. He answered all our questions and made the experience even better.
The resort also offered me a beautiful birthday gift: a recycled paper elephant made through their local paper recycling cell, which was such a thoughtful and meaningful touch.
In the evening, we had dinner at the Sri Lankan restaurant inside the resort, which I highly recommend booking in advance.
Honestly, nothing to say.
The pool and the views
Gecko and cockroach in our room
Absolutely lovely room and big bathroom, fantastic pool and views of Sigriya rock are unparalleled. The views make Aliya stand out and really worth the stay. Great for car transfers and tours around the area, really well located.
While the hotel was generally very good, the food was a bit lacking and the local food served was often too spicy for us and the alternatives weren't as well made. Also, the crocodiles on the property, although seemingly kept in a zone, might be a bit scary for some people. It's definitely a good hotel and I would recommend it for those wanting to tour the cultural triangle.
