Amazing stay

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Aliya Resort & Spa in Sigiriya, and the experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the team stood out.
A special mention goes to General Manager Kasun and his team, whose outstanding hospitality and friendly service made our stay both comfortable and memorable. True Sri Lankan hospitality. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests are clearly reflected in every aspect of the resort.
We also had the opportunity to visit the Ayurvedic spa, where Dr. Buwaneka and his team provided excellent treatment for my back pain. Their expertise, combined with a calming and professional approach, made a noticeable difference and added great value to our stay.

Overall, Aliya Resort & Spa offers a perfect blend of comfort, service, and wellness. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya or Dambulla.

Exemplary Sri Lankan hospitality.
Pros:

I am traveling with my family. I was born and brought up in Sri Lanka, but currently live in the UK; my family doesn't. This was the first time my family visited Sri Lanka to experience the great hospitality I always talked about. Boy! It did deliver.

From the very first entrance to checking in to service areas, we were always greeted with a smile. My little girl, Amya, was well-loved. My son and stepdaughter shared that they would want to live in Sri Lanka.

Everyone we met at the hotel was welcoming and even went above and beyond to cater to my fussy eater 3-year-old daughter.

The views were unbelievable. The room was neat, tidy, and picturesque.

The waiting staff at the pool and the lifeguard were exceptional, going above and beyond to help my partner find her vape that she accidentally dropped in between the wooden floorboards.

From the gardener to the security the waiting staff, everyone stopped to greet you, smile, and talk. You felt like you were among friends and family. It is child-friendly, and rooms are spacious. We stayed in room number 40. We have 5 people: 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a 3-year-old toddler. All had enough space in our gorgeous room.

Cons:

While our overall experience was exceptional and exceeded expectations, we have identified a few minor areas for refinement that could elevate the service from "good" to "great." Specifically, we recommend tightening the bathtub taps and installing safety locks on bathroom doors. Our stepdaughter inadvertently became temporarily stuck, though she found amusement in the situation by ordering room service via her phone. Hotel staff were on the property within minutes and took a little while to sort this out. But great adversities create the most adventurous and inventions. Additionally, we note that the dinner service commences at 7:30 PM, which is somewhat later than preferred.

Wonderful stay

Amazing location.

The manager Alisha messaged us ahead of our stay so we were able to book the spa and activities in advance, which was very helpful.
We really enjoyed the paper recycling experience

Amazing staff, beautiful pool and a perfect start to our Sri Lanka trip
Pros:

We absolutely loved our stay at Aliya Resort & Spa. What made it most special were the staff – every member of staff we met was incredibly kind, warm and helpful. A special thank you to Alisha at reception, who was so friendly and regularly checked in with us to make sure everything was going well.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable and very well equipped, and the beds were extremely comfortable – our whole family of four slept really well every night.

The pool area is fantastic and one of our favourite parts of the resort. It’s huge and beautifully designed, with incredible views towards Sigiriya Rock in the distance. It was such a relaxing place to spend time as a family and the pool staff were always very friendly.

Breakfast had a great variety and the evening buffet was also delicious. Prices around the resort were reasonable and we ordered room service a couple of times which was also good value. The restaurant staff were excellent, including a lovely lady who greeted us each time we arrived which always made us feel very welcome.

One of the highlights of our stay was the safari and the night safari around Aliya, both organised through reception. Our guides Akash and Ranmal were fantastic – fun, knowledgeable and great with our family. It was an experience we will always remember.

We would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return one day. It was the perfect start to our trip to Sri Lanka.
