Prachtig nieuw hotel, luxe kamers en openbare ruimtes met oog voor detail. Eerste avond bij Create (Michelin) gegeten. Top menu, top wijnen, top ambiance. Al mag de bediening, ook bij een sterren restaurant wat meer verbinding maken met de gast. Zouden ze aan mogen voelen, bij welke tafel dat gepast is en waar niet. Nu erg formeel en gaven ons niet het gevoel dat ze erop zaten te wachten. Sommige gerechten iets aan de zoute kant.
Tweede avond Maes. Relaxte sfeer. Goede wijn. Frietjes matig.
Onduidelijk of sauna nou met of zonder zwemkleding is. Bij inchecken werd ons meegedeeld dat het MET zwemkleding is. Toen ik uit onze hotelkamer naar beneden keek in het open buitengedeelte waar een dompelbad staat, liep er toch echt een man poedelnaakt rond.
Om 6 uur in de ochtend ging het brandalarm af. Ging ook vanzelf weer uit. Maar nachtrust zwaar verstoord. Kon daarna niet meer in slaap vallen. Werd bij het uitchecken met geen woord over gerept. Ik had toch wel excuses verwacht.
Ontbijt was eerste ochtend top. Al liet een gast de champagneglazen vallen. Is natuurlijk irritant. De dame uit de bediening zag ik vervolgens weglopen en met haar ogen rollen. Niet professioneel.
Vanochtend was het drukker en had bediening het minder onder controle. Moesten zelf om thee en jus d’orange vragen. Vervolgens kreeg ik alleen thee en mijn man niet. Duurde erg lang voordat hersteld werd. Toen ik nog even terug liep naar buffet was mijn bordje weggehaald. Keurig natuurlijk. Maar bestek ook verdwenen en niet vervangen. Kleine details, maar bij 5 sterren superieur moet alles kloppen.
Ontbijt was super, locatie mooi en vriendelijk personeel. De kamers zijn mooi, ruim en schoon. Je bent op een paar minuten afstand van de stad dus dat is heel prettig.
We vonden de SPA alleen tegen vallen omdat er geen zwembad was en 1 van onze 2 kamers was de douche overstroomd. Na dit meerdere keren gemeld te hebben werd het niet opgelost. We hebben dit bij uitchecken nog een keer vermeld en toen hebben ze ons een fles champagne meegegeven.
De enorme gastvrijheid. Luxe uitstraling en fijne sfeer.
Het enige wat wij misten was een zwembad
Het was er schoon netjes en overal rook het heel erg fris! Personeel heel vriendelijk heel behulpzaam!

One of the best hotels I have stayed in outside of North America. Exceptional service throughout. From check in to check out the experience was second to none. Nice room. Huge breakfast spread. The spa was not finished during my stay but will only add to the beautiful hotel. I would make another excuse to visit Maastricht just to stay in this hotel again :)

Ambiance and location (quiet and away from the city but reachable by car or bike)
We were there on a busy weekend which meant we had to wait for a few things (room cleaning / breakfast) but nothing particularly bad
Service, Ambiente und Personal auf absolutem Top Niveau. Sehr gutes Frühstück.
Jammern auf absolut höchstem Niveau.
Die Tür zum Ruheraum im Wellnessbereich sollte sich schließen lassen. So kam doch hier und da die "Hektik" des Empfangs und des Vorraums im Ruheraum an.
Alles! Top! Wij komen zeker terug
Alles was prima!
Architecture and design are a big plus, but the decisive factors are always the staff and the amenities. I spend most of the year living in hotels in different countries, as my work involves constant travel and meetings — almost always 5-star hotels, and only rarely 4-star ones.
The things I liked most:
• excellent front desk staff
• a large on-site parking area
• outstanding breakfast staff and a breakfast that deserves 10 out of 10
• attention to detail and respect for the history of the place
• complimentary water and apples in the room
Now for the disappointing part:
• In the room, the water in the shower was only cool, barely warm.
• The bathroom floor was icy cold, and the ventilation system was constantly running, turning the room into a refrigerator.
• A separate and major issue was the restaurants. Despite having less than 40% occupancy, they refused to seat me for dinner, saying they were fully booked, while in reality only a couple of tables were occupied. The front desk staff had to persuade the restaurant in the main building to serve me — the funny thing is, I was alone. This was the first time this has ever happened to me in a hotel with two restaurants.
The receptionist spent about 10 minutes explaining and convincing them that I was just one guest, yet they kept insisting the restaurant was full. It was quite surprising to end up dining in a restaurant where, across three dining rooms on the entire floor, only two tables were occupied — including mine, for one person. It was 9:00 PM, and the restaurant never became busy for the rest of the evening.
At the same time, the food at dinner was far worse than the breakfast, which had been excellent.
The modern comfort and quietness. The restaurants and bar. Very good location very close to Maastricht.
