Ridho's Homestay & Jungle Trekking

With direct access to the river, and a view of the dense jungle beyond, this property is worth it for the location alone! The included fresh breakfast is delivered to your doorstep every morning so you can sit and eat overlooking this lush vista.

The room itself is very accurate compared to the photos, and is excellent value for the price.

My host, Reynold, was very helpful and communicative, helping me to arrange transfers to and from KNO airport, as well as booking me into a group trek into the national park. Options for the transfer included a shared van, or private car, both at reasonable rates.

Overall, this was a fantastic stay!

We stayed in this structure for 4 nights, everything was perfect! The staff was very kind, they organized the transport from the airport for us, and everything went smoothly. Every morning they provided a delicious home-made breakfast on the terrace outside the apartment, that has an amazing view on the river and the jungle. The apartment is very clean and it is equipped with everything you may need. The position is also perfect to visit Bukit Lawang and it's close to many restaurants. They also organized for us a two-days trekking in the jungle and everything was perfect! Our guide, Johnny, was very prepared and explained us many things on the forest and its animals. We hope to be back soon!!

Our stay in Ridho's homestay was AMAZING!! It was the highlight of our trip to Indonesia. The accommodation was very clean with a beautiful view of the river where we could enjoy our delicious breakfast. We booked our 2D1N Jungle tour through Ridho's and it was incredible. We saw multiple orangutans and had a great time with Johnny and Tony as our guides. Only downside is we didn't stay for longer.

De ontzettend vriendelijke mensen. Het uitzicht vanaf het balkon. De fijne kamer, met grote badkamer, de banana pancake bij het ontbijt.
We hebben ook de 2 daagse jungle trek met Ridho’s gedaan. Jhony en Tony hebben ons een onvergetelijke tocht bezorgd! Wisten ons veel over de jungle te vertellen. We hebben orang oetans en andere apen gezien. En ze hebben ons geholpen waar ze konden. En dankzij Mafé hebben we heerlijk gegeten op de prachtige kampeerplek in de jungle. Om op dag 2 al tubend terug te raften naar Bukit Lawang.
Ook nog een kookworkshop laten organiseren. En dat was ook een mooie ervaring. En daarna heerlijk gegeten! Dank Dedek, Dedek’s vrouw, Jhony, Tony, Mafé, Jhony’s moeder en alle anderen

From the moment I booked, the communication from Rhidos Homestay was exceptional. Even though the owner wasn’t in the country, every question I had was answered quickly, and they helped organize everything seamlessly—from my private transportation and laundry to arranging my 3-day jungle trek.

When I arrived, DeeDee and his beautiful family, welcomed me like I was part of their friends. After months of traveling, that feeling meant more to me than I can put into words. Their kindness, generosity, and genuine hospitality made this much more than just a place to stay.

The homestay itself sits right along the river, and waking up to those views was incredibly peaceful. There were a few power outages during my stay, but that’s simply part of being in the jungle and not something I would ever blame the homestay for.

The jungle trek they arranged was the experience of a lifetime. Our guides, Marwan and Pazar,Ipan, and papa Eton were absolutely exceptional. Their knowledge of the jungle and its wildlife was incredible, and thanks to their expertise we had unforgettable encounters with wild orangutans and many other animals while always treating the environment with respect. Every meal they prepared during the trek was delicious, and their passion for sharing the rainforest was obvious every step of the way.

I’ve stayed in many accommodations while traveling, but very few have made me feel as welcomed as Rhidos Homestay. If you’re visiting Bukit Lawang, don’t hesitate to stay here and let them arrange your jungle adventure. You won’t just leave with amazing memories, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve made lifelong friends.
