Our stay was a truly enchanting experience, defined by majestic wildlife, castle-like charm, and exceptional hospitalit
Pros:

An Enchanting and Grand Coastal SanctuaryOur recent sojourn at the Purbeck House Hotel and Louisa Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled in a breathtaking coastal location just moments from the sea, this magnificent property possesses the majestic architectural splendour of a historic castle. Local lore suggests its origins as a tranquil nunnery, adding an aura of timeless charm and fascinating heritage to the entire estate.

We resided in a meticulously appointed, ground floor accommodation within the Louisa Lodge. The quarters were remarkably airy, providing an exceptionally comfortable and pleasant sanctuary. Each morning commenced with a delightful continental breakfast that was both remarkably nutritious and thoroughly delectable.

The hotel grounds are a lavish, picturesque paradise. During the daytime, the vibrant gardens are populated by playful squirrels and charming songbirds—complemented by the enthusiastic presence of the local seagulls! As twilight descended, the estate transformed into a magical sanctuary where we witnessed majestic deer, badgers, and foxes roaming freely.

What truly elevates this establishment to a superior standard is the unparalleled hospitality. The staff members are incredibly accommodating, genuinely amiable, and consistently surpassed our expectations. Even the housekeeping service was absolutely flawless. While officially designated as a three-star establishment, the sheer elegance and sophisticated ambiance make it undeniably worthy of a five-star classification. It is a wonderfully opulent retreat that we highly recommend.

Cons:

Does not apply!

We had a great couple of days. We have stayed with you a few times and love Swanage.
Pros:

The welcome from reception.
The room was well thought out with everything that was needed.
The lounges and bar area are great.
Grounds are pleasant with seating available.
Its close to the centre of town.

Cons:

The change in the breakfast offer. Whilst I understand the reasoning to stop offering a cooked breakfast I feel the continental breakfast is adequate at best, many of the items offered being of a basic or poor standard.
At the very least tables should be laid with cutlery and napkins.
Also it’s a shame that there is no background music in the bar or lounge areas. This could be provided at a management agreed level and of a genre that is suitable for a hotel of this type.

Lovely one night stay over in Swanage
Pros:

Nice big room, very clean and tidy, good location, easy free parking, more room lights than normal, plenty of power sockets.

Cons:

Small TV (but adequate), would prefer a walk in shower - nowadays climbing into a bath to shower is outdated and dangerous for us pensioners. The room price was a little high.

Nice hotel
Pros:

Location good and plenty of free parking at the hotel. The garden was lovely. It is a converted Victorian house so plenty of character. My single room had a beautiful view of Swanage Bay.

Cons:

I booked a single room which which was on 2 nd floor which was originally the servants quarters with no lift. due to the nature of the hotel it had lots of steps to the room. Do not book if you have mobility problems

Fantastische plek om te verblijven in Swanage
Pros:

De ruime kamer met prachtig meubilair. Het ontzettend vriendelijke personeel!

Cons:

Niks viel tegen. Het hotel is een oud huis uit 1875 (geloof ik) dus niet alles is modern, maar dat draagt juist bij aan de hele beleving.
