We have been annual visitors to Garza Blanca because we are elite members here. The staff recognize us as we are staying once again for 4 weeks every January. We feel like Puerto Vallarta is our second home. Staff reinforce that by putting their hand on their heart saying “Welcome home”. When an employee gives exemplary service, then we like to recognize them. First of all, we appreciate or suite cleaning lady named Amelia. She kept our living quarters very clean and tidy. We were all inclusive so going to a different restaurant daily gave us contact with waiters. We appreciated them so much that we would intentionally sit in their assigned service area. At the new Misika, Cristo Valazio, Carlos Arcinega, Yan(the hostess) and the manager Jairo were pleasantly attentive to our needs to the extent that they exceeded our expectations. We felt like we had gone to Peru getting to experience the new flavors and unique entrees featured there.
Other very special employees at each restaurant are:
Boccados- Angel, the manager, Ivan, and Xavier
Noi- the chef Massimo, manager Arturo, waiter Orlando
Dao- Adrianna and David
Blanca Blue breakfast waiters (Junior, Xavier, Humberto), hostesses Hanna, Carmen and Jessi, omelet man Josue Ramiere Altonirano and evening waiters, Juventino and Marco
Hiroshi- Waiters Gloria, Diego, Ruben, and Ivan
Our butlers: Filipe is awesome because he took our requests and always served us to the max. Zuno was also very helpful.
Tony, Omar, Tito, Salvador and Rod were very helpful at the pool assisting with seating and drinks. Thank you because the beach pool is favorite!
Garza Blanca has received a number of negative reviews recently so much so that we considered cancelling our trip we were that worried, but I'm glad we didn't and I'm please to provide the resort with a 4/5 review as we had a great time!
Firstly we booked a Junior Panoramic suite and we called ahead asking for a high floor in tower 5, front desk made a note on our reservation and they were able to provide us a room on the 8th floor with stunning views of the beach and ocean. The room was clean and everything worked in the room. The views from the balcony are incredible.
Yes the concierge will try to get you to attend the "VIP breakfast on your first day which is the timeshare presentation and offer discount rates on a number of things during your stay if you attend but we politely declined and everything was fine'
The resort itself is stunningly beautiful from the landscaping and gardens which are immaculately maintained to the pools and the beach. There's a hot tub that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and the Los Arcos rock features that is truly breathtaking one of the best locations on the property to relax and hangout.
I'm happy to report that the beach jetty construction is complete as is Sanctuary Tower so noise from construction is greatly reduced. There is another tower being built but it's further up the hillside near the Hotel Mousai towers and didn't bother us.
The food is exceptional at all restaurants everything we ate was fantastic we didn't have a single bad meal and the staff from front desk, to concierges, poolside staff and restaurant staff, housekeeping and staff that drive the trolleys are all extremely friendly and professional. Special shout out to Javier and Naomi at Bacados who looked after us for breakfast most days.
The spa is one of the best in the world we've seen anywhere they hydro therapy circuit you have access to before the massages is fantastic and the staff guide you through it.
There are only a couple of reasons I can't give Garza Blanca a full 5/5 review. The suites unfortunately have zero sound proofing so you can hear everything in your neighbours adjoining suite; normal conversations, their TV, furniture scraping whatever it is you can hear it. We got fortunate that a young family was next door to us an they were in bed by 10 pm and not up till 8 am. But if you had people next door to you who are there to party I could see it being a problem.
The main complaint I have is directly squarely at Hotel Mousai who need to change their practices with regards to music levels late at night. From Wednesday night through Saturday night they blast dance and club music at what can only be described as concert level volumes from their rooftop bar and lobby bar both of which are outdoors. This music travels right across the property and into your suite all of Tower 5 is effected and we couldn't sleep until 1 am two nights in a row. We were there for a baby moon not to party and this was highly disruptive not to mention the drunk Americans who were shrieking and screaming drunk in the bars. We complained at were moved to Tower 4 where we couldn't hear it as much the next two nights. I get it this is an all inclusive resort but not everyone is here to party there are baby mooners like us, retired couples, families with kids. Hotel Mousai needs to get it's act together and reduce the noise impacting other guests on the property.
Lastly some of the food is ludicrously overpriced a 40z steak for $70 CAD!! No thank you I can get a 18oz steak in Canada for that price. There are a lot of more affordable things on the menus and we ate well in every restaurant but you an forget steaks or lobster or even some catch of the day fish these prices millionaires wouldn't even pay just out of principal it's pure day light robbery ripping off supposed "rich North Americans"
Overall we did enjoy our stay and it is a truly beautiful resort.
We loved our time there. Treated like Kings and Queens from the staff. The staff at the new sanctuary pool went out of their way to make sure we had the best time. Jose even went and got poker chips and we sat around with our kids and played blackjack. Our housekeeper, Blanca.Guzman was so friendly every day and made our room gorgeous to come back to. We ended up getting a membership and Gustavo is the man if you’re thinking about it!
We stayed at the new Sanctuary building at Garza Blanca in Puerto Vallarta, and it was truly incredible. Our very first time, and we will be back. The room was amazing, so modern and sleek. All of our food was so delicious! So good, hard to believe it was all - inclusive. Our favorite spot was the new rooftop pool and bar at the sanctuary building. The service there was the best!! Efrain, Miriam, Carlos, Edgar, and Jose were so attentive, gave excellent service, so fun and were there for anything we needed! Quick and quality service made us feel like royalty! We will be coming back to see them!!
This resort is so beautiful and all of the staff were so attentive and went above and beyond!
Our room attendant Alma was just wonderful! She left our room so perfect every day and our night room attendant Salma was also so good! All of the help at the resort were excellent!
Our stay at Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta again this year was wonderful. The service of the butlers and poolside staff left us wanting for nothing. They were friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
A special shout out to goes to Araceli, the wonderful housekeeper who kept our unit clean and well stocked for the entire 3 weeks. She seemed to be able to anticipate our every need and was happy to fulfill any special additional requests. Furthermore, on the first day, she welcomed us warmly, having remembered caring for us and our unit a year ago! Now, that’s some special attention to detail!
Gerado was the best and very attentive.
Everything was spectacular! Staff was amazing! We did many things including kayaking. Our instructor was Jazman. She also gave us paddle boarding lessons. She was so patient, kind and knowledgeable! Both my husband and I were able to stand on our paddle boards! It was our first time. We could tell she loves her job!
We also did the mountain hike with Mike. So much fun and loved all his guidance!
Our family had an unforgettable Thanksgiving Week at Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta. The 3-bedroom oceanfront penthouse offered breathtaking views and luxurious comfort. Managers Darinka Peña Joya and Johnattan Diaz went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. Highlights included exquisite in-suite dining with a private chef and a magical dinner on the beach, both of which created lasting memories.
A special thanks to Rigoberto Gutierrez, who made sure our daily beach cabana experience was flawless and consistently provided outstanding service. Rigoberto truly exemplifies hospitality and is a valuable asset to TAFER Hotels and Resorts.
Nicole, the supervisor of the check-in staff, made the check-in process absolutely dreadful. She needs to improve her skills as a receptionist. Her performance is zero out of ten. The process was incredibly horrible for our family, taking approximately three hours. If you have more than three or four children, I strongly advise against using this hotel.
Beautiful property with outstanding service, but a few policies took away from the experience.
Pros: The grounds are absolutely stunning, and the rooms are impressive—spacious with gorgeous terraces. Service was excellent overall, especially from the pool staff, restaurant teams, and trolley drivers. Special shout-outs to Mike (waterfall hike—challenging but worth it!), Jose, Jorge, and Edgar at the Sanctuary rooftop pool, Salvador at the Garza pool, and Angel, our friendly trolley driver. Can’t remember the name of our server at Hiroshi, but he was outstanding and cooked our food table side.
Most of the restaurants I would consider five star… World class, service, and outstanding menus. Our favorites were Hiroshi and Bocados
The Spa was also fantastic and in a beautiful rooftop setting
Cons; the concierge staff will greet you upon checkin but the focus is on scheduling timeshare presentations which was off-putting.
The resort is also very strict about food access: no dining before 3 PM check-in, and food ends at noon on checkout day (checkout is 11 AM). Given the higher price point—and compared to nearby resorts with more flexible policies—this was also disappointing.
Pool areas are limited, especially in Garza, and the beach is minimal. While there are beautiful adults-only rooftop pools, access is restricted to guests staying in those buildings.
Also, the resort is very big and very hilly. There is a trolley service that runs every 15 minutes, which is not always convenient. It’s a beautiful resort to walk, but walking will be a challenge.
Overall, a stunning resort with great service, but restrictive policies and limited shared amenities prevent it from being exceptional.
Bocados was the best restaurant. The people were so nice. The manager Elaine greeted us every day with open arms.
Our stay here was amazing and convenient. All the employees were extremely nice and helpful, especially our housekeeper Mariana - she went above and beyond!
Ivan Solis was such an incredible host over the course of the week.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service every day! Could not be happier with how amazing the staff is
This was our third time visiting Garza Blanca in PV. Our experience was ok due to an issue with our bed sheets being replaced with what it was supposed to be clean sheets. Instead we got sheets that had blood stains on them. They took care of the issue immediately but we were disappointed. The best part of our trip was hanging out at the panoramic view pool. The staff is amazing, one person that stood out was Roberto. He was attentive, super energetic and made sure we were happy with our drinks and food.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few issues, mainly hygiene.
Our 1-bedroom suite was not clean. There were dead mosquitoes squished into the walls, stains on the toilet seat, dust and dead flies all inside the main light fixture, and stains on the furniture. The furniture and decor are peeling and damaged.
The room had a constant, damp, musty smell from what I believe is a poorly maintained, old air conditioning system
The room was full of mosquitoes. We requested that the room be sprayed. This did not help, even with the doors kept closed - they kept coming in, probably through the air conditioning vents.
We were not provided robes, slippers, or a hammock until a few days in.
Regarding the hotel, it is not clear that the gym and most activities do not happen on site, but rather require a trolley ride across a main road to a different hotel.
Finally, upon checkout, tips had been added to bills that I did not sign for. We tipped at every meal, except breakfast, as it's self-service. Obviously, this leaves a bad impression.
Overall, this was not a 5-star hotel experience - at all. The condition of the room was simply not good enough for what we booked and paid for.
This is a fabulous resort with too many amenities to name. The grounds are hundreds of acres of lush foliage dotted with the hotels. There is a trolley that goes between all the restaurants and other points of interest. There are many activities including kayaking and snorkeling just to name a few. I liked Boados restaurant very much and the maitre d, Albino, made sure everything was done to perfection. I would recommend the resort.
This was our third trip to Garza Blanca in Puerto Vallarta. The resort never disappoints and is constantly improving. Our suite was amazing and the staff is beyond friendly, attentive and helpful.
One of the things we love most is that they are continually adding and improving the resort from new hotel building with rooftop pool (Sanctuary), to new restaurants (sports bar and new Peruvian restaurant), and now they are improving the beach area!!
Great resort whether you are traveling as couples or family. Highly recommend!
This development is one of the worst in the area for the locals and por the tourist, It has been doing and planning on destroying natural protected areas and privatizing beaches along this coast, terrible service and also when you drive arround the area of the resort it stinks
Back for another stellar visit. Stayed in the grand penthouse #5122 with our two adult children and their significant others. I 100% recommend staying in the penthouse instead of booking 3 separate rooms. The two story room is truly beautiful- over the top and huge- about 5,000 sf.
We had a divine dinner - lamb/fish/ duck ravioli (!) prepared by chef Alfredo from Bocados. If you have the chance to ever do this, do it!! He brought Daniel who is a fabulous mixologist!!
Had an 80 minute deep tissue massage in the Spa with Andrea. She is exceptionally talented - this was superior to my massages back home!
This was probably our 8th visit and it did not disappoint!!
