Good value small hotel in the centre if everything but very quiet
Pros:

Excellent cooked to order hot breakfast couldn’t have done better myself. Location right in town/village amongst shops, pubs and restaurants

Cons:

Nothing to particularly dislike, shame bar not open but is low season

The Board Inn, Hawes5
Pros:

We were made to feel welcome straight away. The landlord was extremely friendly and funny. He put us at ease straight away. We were shown to our room, which was delightful. He explained about the toilet being a saniflow and how not to put anything but tissue down.
The pub was located in a perfect area, basically smack bang in the middle of the village. The landlord talked about where we could eat and local sights to see. The pub closed at 8pm so we weren't distributed through the evening.
The shower was lovely and hot and had good water pressure.
It was great value for money. We will definitely stay there again.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

Pros:

Very good value overnight stop. Unpretentious and slightly quirky hotel. Large rooms were clean and comfortable. Exceeded expectations. Owners were chatty and welcoming.

Brilliant and would be more than happy to return.
Pros:

Value for money, breakfast, staff. location, cleanliness and facilities were all excellent and would definitely stay again and recommend to others. It was out of season so the bar was closed but it didn't spoil our stay in any way.

Excellent comfy budget room in the heart of town
Pros:

The price was exceptionally good ( reduced from an already very reasonable price). Our double room was very big, clean and with a sofa, ideal for our two days of walking. The pub bar looked very nice and homely, although we managed to just miss having a pint there, as they are obviously on limited hours at this time of year. Breakfast was in the hotel next door and was also very good. Once the day trippers and gone home there was parking outside/nearby in the centre of town. Would be happy to stay again for a few nights when back in the area.

Cons:

Nothing really. The bathroom/shower was compact but perfectly serviceable. The plumbing works on a macerator/pump so will surprise those who haven't come across these with the occasional pulse of noise....but that's just a bit of the rooms character to enjoy.
