The fireplace in the room and the comfy beds
That we couldn't find a table for dinner :)
Very friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed in room 10 which was a long climb up to the room! Not ideal if you have mobility issues and unfit! Lovely clean and comfortable room once you got there!
Stanza molto curata, posizione ottima.
We loved the ancient feel of the place, quirky floors, historic fireplaces, combined with modern comfort. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The staff were friendly, the service good, the food as described on the menu. The breakfast was more than adequate.
There was nothing not to like.
Very small room even smaller shower room. Evening meal was disappointing
The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The location was nice, picturesque setting in a village. The vegetarian breakfast was good.
The main let down was the inattention and poor welcome of the staff. From check in to service at the evening meal, the various staff members were non smiling, monosyllabic and gave the impression of not wanting to have guests . At breakfast the staff member ignored us coming into the dining room and continued chatting to someone else. No greeting or direction for breakfast bar etc, until we managed to interrupt her and ask. This was a very disappointing experience to one we had at another hotel earlier in the week. Even though this would be a convenient stop over for us we would unfortunately not stay again or recommend the Red Lion to anyone.
Beautiful unspoiled property
There was nothing to dislike the low beams spiral staircase the well in the car park fantastic
A fabulous hotel. The room was comfortable, immaculately clean and peaceful. The food was good, particularly the breakfast. The pub itself had a nice, cosy atmosphere and the locals were friendly and chatty. Above all, the staff were absolutely wonderful. As a female solo traveller, one can feel slightly out on a limb a bit but the staff made me feel very welcome. They were helpful, friendly and chatty which goes a long way when by oneself. This is something which is sometimes overlooked in other places I've stayed. This was my second visit and I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm hoping to return again in the future.
Good location
Up narrow staircase to bathroom which had no door . Bar and restaurant had poor quality furniture. Some bar chairs were stained.
Excellent breakfast and staff were really helpful and friendly. Will happily stay here again if I am in the area again in the near future.

The pub was very good. The room was spacious and very comfortable and clean.
Green King who own the pub, have a very standard 'pub grub' menu. We would have preferred more home cooked food, but the standard was good and we knew the menu when we booked.
The breakfast was good but should have been included in the price.
Room configuration as bathroom open plan and not very discreet.
Breakfast options not very well explained.
I just had the Continental breakfast and it was excellent. And great to have the butter in little pots rather than the small packets that most places have. My one suggestion would be to have bigger glasses for the fruit juices.
The bathroom did not have a toilet brush. All bathrooms should have one.
breakfast was 'average'. the waitress took my cup away to get coffee, not using the handle and with her fingers inside the cup - not very hygienic or pleasant.
