We had a very pleasant stay at Avadale Munnar. Location is peaceful, excellent rooms, nice dinner and breakfast…. And the staff is super kind and friendly. Highly recommended!
Everything about the property is amazing. The facility, architecture, ambience, hospitality, food, location was just perfect. The caretaker Mr. Manikandan did an excellent job in hosting us, his attention to even minor details is amicable. They have pretty great cooks as well. The property is the same as what you see in pictures and the rooms are organised pretty well. You can blindly book this place and have a very pleasant stay away from the hustling city but very close to tourist attractions in and around the chinnakanal stretch
Good ambiance and food was also nice. Staff are very good
The property is situated in a quiet and picturesque area, offering a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly, always available, and easy to communicate with, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast ( only few options) was delicious and well-prepared, providing a great start to the day. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.
there are some areas that could be improved. The property is in need of renovation, and the rooms could use some upgrades. The sheets and towels were not in the best condition and could be refreshed. Additionally, the location is quite challenging to access, as the road leading to the property is steep and requires confident driving skills. Without a car, it would be very difficult to reach the property or explore the surrounding tourist attractions, as they are not within walking distance.
What an amazing place. Beautifully and peacefully located in the middle of the mountains. The accommodation is incredible and the rooms so bright, clean, and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Many thanks to the manager who made sure we had everything we needed at any moment. He was of great help when we wanted to organize transportation and activities. Would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a quiet place in nature. Food is super super tasty and available at any time you like.
Nothing!
Cozy place with very good staff
Gorgeous views. Peaceful location. Great staff.
Nothing
The property is in a quaint location. The rooms were well kept, staff was helpful and food was nice. We were assigned the deluxe room on the GF, which has a pretty view of the garden.
Occasionally, the privacy in the garden facing room was lost due to staff or guests walking that way. South Indian food options could be added to the lunch/dinner menu. Presently, only South Indian breakfast is served.
Location in the midst of thick wooded area is refreshing, nice and cosy resort
Maintenance of the property could be better
Very friendly staff who accommodated all our requests. They had attention to detail like cleanly making the bed even for the extra beds. They reheated tea before serving when we were late then initially communicated time
The extra beds were very hard to sleep on and the washrooms though maintained clean looks a bit aged
Property:
Really beautiful property. The rooms were neat and well maintained. Nestled among trees the property gives a really calming sense - it’s not located within the city (which you must take into consideration), however it gives you privacy and a chance to enjoy nature really - away from the hustle in the city.
Food:
Nearby restaurants outside the property are not great. Property has their own chef - who makes some insane “home made” food, which we were allowed to curate to a certain extent. I would recommend the half board (dinners) - if you intend on traveling within Munnar/ full board if you intend on just relaxing with friends and family on the property.
Travel:
Either drive or book your own vehicle to travel the city, which takes about a half hour to get to - really scenic views en route!
Extras:
Don’t forget to ask if a campfire can be set on one of the nights - they even bring out the boombox.
Ask for the way you want you prefer your eggs to be cooked at breakfast - if you have a preference.
The real bottom line: All the staff were kind to a fault and super friendly. Mani is the real star of the show. He is very attentive and went the extra mile to sort us out at every turn - whether it was teaching us a few games, providing us with spots to visit, helping us plan the itinerary, food preferences, he really ironed out the wrinkles in every plan we made.
One of the rooms had an overhead open roof shower (which was interesting at first). Would be good to install a glass ceiling perhaps - to avoid an insects getting in and enjoying the room for free! How could they?! :D
