Managed by a private host
Incredible views, lovely family, totally unique experience. Good breakfast and very helpful when we had an extremely early start on departure.
Rather terrifying steps and in the middle of a building site. Only for the nimble!
Great experience to stay with local family, fantastic breakfast with lake view, and really appreciate for helping bought a local Mayan cloth!
Very clean room and facilities. It is a duplex, so you share the building (kitchen + bathroom) with another guest.
Checking in was difficult. I had to find the owner at his house near the top of the hill. But he was very kind.
If you are interested in a party atmosphere, this posada is not for you. But if you want to stay in a lovely room with a warm host, it's a good choice.
I loved the location. This was my favorite town in Guatemala. The people were extremely friendly and the views were spectacular.
To be clear, the photos & reviews combine two separate accommodations. There is a lovely large room in Juanita's home, and a few mins away, a separate small apt with 2 private rooms and a shared kitchen & bath. . We stayed in the latter. Convenient & clean, and included a lovely breakfast served each morning. Juanita was helpful & sweet.
Very busy & noisy neighbourhood, right below the CEPAC & school.
The lady is very nice and very welcoming, the room was good but no view.
Breakfast was ok
Slept 5 hours as it was very noisy, 1 dog was barking lound until 1 am in front of the door and some house us builded just in front and the workers start 6am with really loud music on speakers and has it is a small space it resonnates a lot, maybe would be nice if she asked them to make an effort and not put the music soo early.
I like staying with the little family, they had cute chickens and a rooster. I love the view from their house. I had a private balcony in a private apartment with shower, bathroom and dressing room; bed with bug net and a bunch of windows to see the lake outside and volcanoes.
The households up pretty high on the hill. You can walk down the hill, but up it was a challenge. It is very steep, warm during the day. So if I had to go to the lake, I sometimes would take a tuk tuk back up for only 10Q.
Went there for a second time. Everything is a 10/10. Highly recommend this place!
Nothing
Incredibly friendly hosts and gorgeous views
This is simply an amazing homestay. A big room with a private rooftoop to see the sunset and sunrise. Everything is perfectly clean! The included breakfast is delicious and everyday something new - amazing.
Finally, Roberto and his family is very nice and supportive but they also leave your private space.
10/10
Nothing!
A great experience with a local family!
Una experiencia genial con los locales!
Juana the host was very kind and wanted to make sure everything went well. Delicious breakfasts! The room was beautiful, with a mosquito net on the bed. Separate rooms for bath and shower. Large walk in closet.
The view was beautiful if you don’t look down.
The location. At the top end of the community, so looking down you see all the unfinished houses, laundry, cables and wires. The property and the entire town is on a steep hill, like 45° angle.
Dogs barking at night woke me up at 3 am. The church started broadcasting at 6 am Sunday morning.
We simly loved our stay here! It was amazing to live with a local family for a couple of days. Juanita and Roberto are super lovely and caring. We had great conversations and really felt like home. Everyday we were served a super delicious breakfast. The room (or studio) is very spacious, very nicely decorated and comes with a provate bathroom, lake views and a private rooftop terrace with lake views.
The house is located in the village, uphill from the lancha terminal but can easily be reached by a quick tuk tuk ride or a 20 min walk.
Honestly, this was my favorite place to stay in all of central america! Cannot recommend it enough!
Thank you so much, Juanita and Roberto! ❤️
