Very short stay. I requested a breakfast on the go and it was packed very proffesionally.

Convenient overnight stop in Clarens
Pros:

Easy to find location and nice to have the restaurant in-house. That was one of the main criteria why we opted for it.
Rooms are really nicely decorated and it even had a small fireplace. Optional wood for a reasonable fee was provided which is a nice touch on a cold winters evening.
Cappuccino for breakfast was nice.
Staff was very friendly and polite.

Cons:

The bathroom was very cold, perhaps because it had an outside wall but it was not very pleasant in the morning since it also took some time to catch warm water in the shower.
Restaurant ran out of one option we chose and I took then an alternative. But it tasted like cardboard and I returned half of it.
Partner had a tomato soup and he didn’t enjoy it either. And he generally loves tomato soup. The roll that was served with the soup was also no alternative as it was stale, dry and hard as a rock. We mentioned it to the waitress and even let her „feel“ the roll but she just said that that’s how it is. As if it was the normal quality standard, which would be sad.
Breakfast was ok.
The room was lovely but the restaurant could’ve been much better.

Very bad experience, will never recommend it to anybody.
Pros:

The dinner that we ordered via room service was the only acceptable part of our visit.

Cons:

1. We were place in a room without a balcony facing directly into another room even though are request for a balcony room was approved.
2. Secure parking was confirmed on the booking, but our vehicle had to stand in the street.
3. Water pressure of the shower was extremely low.
4. Bathroom door in our room 9 was extremely noisy, hinges need some oil.
5. Breakfast was of a very poor quality (eggs and bacon were dried out and the sausages were dry and overcooked.
6. On our departure the receptionist provided us with an invoice for my wife's spar treatment that was already paid the day before.

It was pleasant, just need to make some simple changes.
Pros:

Our room was clean and modern, really nice! It was however at the other end of the passage with awful views.
The food was brilliant!

Cons:

The restaurant is nicely painted but lacked any plants, decor or ambiance. The gospel music in the background was not to my liking and could actually offend some people, so they need to get someone in there to sort this out please. It is a wonderful Hotel but needs some TLC.
The bar chairs are so threadbare and it lacks personality.

I want a refund
Pros:

Aircon was facing the bathroom, so room was very cold, shower floor has black tile so it was full of mould because I slipped. I have pictures of the floor. I hope we don’t get bacteria infections.

Amazing
Pros:

The property was clean and nicely located to areas in Clarens as well as the exit back to Joburg. The staff were overall nice and helpful.

Cons:

The barman was not hospitable, he refused to explain to us when we had questions with regards to a drink we ordered.
