The location is very good for a ski trip, with easy access to several of Hakuba’s main resorts, including Happo‑One, Hakuba 47, Goryu and Iwatake, which made it a convenient base throughout our stay.
We were very grateful for the staff's help when our flight was delayed. We arrived after reception had closed, but we were given clear and detailed instructions for late check‑in, which made the process easy and stress‑free. It was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated after a long journey.
The room was warm, comfortable and practical for a ski stay, and overall the hotel worked well as a base after long days on the slopes. One useful thing for families to note is that the bathrooms don’t have heating, so they can feel quite cold in the mornings, especially noticeable when travelling with young children.
We had no issue with the three‑day cleaning policy, which was clearly stated and reasonable. However, when cleaning didn’t take place, and we asked on the fourth day for the room to be serviced, the staff member we spoke to was quite dismissive.
In the end, only the bins were emptied, and no proper cleaning was done. We were also told bins would be emptied daily, which unfortunately didn’t happen during our stay. This was disappointing and below the standard we expected from a hotel advertising itself as a luxury property.
The apartment was spacious clean with good heating and air conditioning, quiet location with good views, we were on the 3rd floor.
Family of four adults and plenty of space inside the bedrooms and lounge.
Good heated storage room for ski equipment
Good location for Iwatake, 100m walk
We stayed for one week, hired a car,
Breakfast was disappointing, we skipped it after a few days because it just delayed us getting to the slopes.
The front entrance and ski storage doorway were not cleared of ice by the staff making it difficult to use the stairs and open the door. I slipped and fell.
Charges for parking outside were high when it’s free parking nearby.
Few restaurants nearby, Over priced
Beautiful place, great hosts.
It’s annoying to take a taxi into town for food, there is 2 options for food in this part of town.
I liked the breakfast and hospitality
Only one bathroom
Modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff at the property were kind and extremely helpful.
Nice accomodation brand new
No food available. No coffee or restaurant available
I loved the staff as they were incredibly helpful in booking taxi's. The room was terrific and spacious especially when coming with a family of 4 with two teens. It was nice that everyone could have their own bed. The bathroom was well stocked and the showers were hot. I really liked the breakfast options and the shabu shabu dinner was amazing. The hotel is close to the bus stop and the iwatake resort so getting around to the other ski resorts and skiing at Iwatake was easy to do. I liked that rhythm rentals will pick up and drop off at that location for rentals and will pick up the rentals from there when finished with them.
It would have been great if there were shuttles in the evening to go to and from the Happo-one area or Echoland. We didn't have a car and taxi's are useful but difficult to schedule last min (you must know the times for pick up and drop off a couple hours ahead of time which makes spontaneity difficult). The drier didn't work well, I'm pretty sure the heating element was broken so we ended up drying the clothes in our room as after 4 cycles in the drier they were still damp. I was grateful that they had a coin operated washer and dryer though as many places do not. They also could provide you with coins if needed and detergent.
Great location, Iwatake is a excellent ski mountain with breath taking views and good terrain for all abilities. Hotel was very close to ski lifts. Very comfortable rooms, loved the heated floors and sauna. There's very limited dinner options near hotel so a hire car to get around is a must as food options are too far to walk. Breakfast was ok, not great. Very friendly and helpfully staff. Defiantly recommend this hotel great for our family ski trip.
Breakfast was average for the cost of the accommodation this could have been better. Restaurants are very hard to book no good booking systems or booked out way in advance, defiantly plan where you want to eat dinner. Hotel car parking fee feel this should be included in the price
Clean. Nice design. Private course meal for dinner was really good. Close to slopes.
The location was perfect, it's literally a 5 minute walk from the gondola, so it's very easy to ski in/out. The design of the place is stunning, and if you run into Nick, let him know because he is the architect who designed it! Beds are super comfortable, the food is delicious, and the sauna downstairs is such a treat after a long day of skiing (or to warm up before one)! The staff is incredibly helpful and kind, and we wouldn't hesitate to come back, we're already planning a return trip.
P.S. The flat whites here are delicious!
Room was fantastic and location was great for access to Iwatake ski resort.
Check out time is too early, should be after 10am or 11am.
We were so impressed by the design and functionality of Ski Inn Iwatake. Beyond the high quality accommodation, beautiful facilities and lovely food…it was the staff that really made our stay special. Nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond, especially when we had neglected to plan our transport back to Nagano…they assisted us every step of the way. We had a really special stay here and would love to return.
Great location, beautiful scenery
The modern interior, very clean, staff were very hospitable and how close it was to the Iwatake ski slopes.
Could have been a shuttle service as this accomodation is a bit far from key restaurants and bars in hakuba. We got stuck a few times as taxis are very hard to book.
Staying here was amazing. The property is situated a stone’s throw from the Iwatake gondola, making it very easy to get around with your skis/boards.
Our rooms was extremely clean and nice, and breakfast each morning was delicious. If you have a chance, book the sauna to relax and unwind after hitting the slopes.
To top off the whole trip, the staff went above and beyond to help us. Thank you Nick, Mir, Yuri and Newton for being so friendly and helpful - really made our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed conversing with each of you!
