The hosts were absolutely amazing. They were very kind and helped us during our stay. They have a lot of pets roaming about which was nice as they were all friendly. They offered motorbike rental, booked us a bus to Ninh Binh for a reduced price and made us some snacks to take for the journey. We also opted in for the hot pot in the evening which is worth the try!
There is a hostel on the other side of the river. One night they had loud karaoke going on for a long time, however, this only happened once. Besides that it is tranquil.

Personnel accueillant et très aimable, communication en anglais pas toujours facile mais on a toujours fini par se comprendre. Parfait pour passer une nuit. Notre chambre ne nous a pas convenu au premier abord (impossible d’ouvrir les fenêtres) et nous avons pu changer pour une plus agréable à notre goût sans problème. Rapport qualité/prix tout à fait respectable. Merci beaucoup !

We had two great nights at 2stones. The homestay is located in a beautiful spot, with a very nice view of a lake. The owners are super friendly and always ready to help: they booked for us a great one day tour in Lan Ha Bay and arranged a scooter at a good price. They really made our life much easier by solving those.
The room was cozy, with airco and a fan, very useful in summer. Keep in mind that the bed is pretty hard. Although we find it comfy, and were able to rest well, it's not the traditional western-style mattress.
We would definitely stay here again if we go back to CatBa.
The location is about a thirty minute walk to town, which we didn’t mind and the owners animals were really lovely to wake up or come back to. We enjoyed having breakfast on the water’s edge and I appreciated that they were able to accommodate my vegan requirements.
However, when we arrived after a long journey, we didn’t experience much of a greeting. The gentleman in the space, who I think didn’t speak much english, didn’t even ask who we were, just simply took us to a room and then left telling us he was busy.
The room we were given was not as advertised - in fact, I could see the room I’d booked across the way through the window, however, there was no one to speak to about it - it was very much in need of improvement and the bed was really uncomfortable.
Additionally, the bathroom was very small and sad, with everything getting soaked during our shower, so we constantly had to take the toilet roll and things out.
I would say for the amount we paid, I was disappointed. Although, I’m sure with a few improvements, this could be a really nice stay.
We had such a magical stay here for five nights! It was absolutely wonderful. The property is charming and quaint on a beautiful, quiet canal. We loved our room - cozy, clean, simple, and comfortable with a view of the canal. Shower has hot water. The staff made us feel so welcome and cared for. We could have stayed longer. It's less than five minute scooter to the center or a beach, but so much quieter and more beautiful in our opinion than the center. Real coffee and good food available on site. They booked us a great cruise and transportation to Ninh Binh. It's an incredible value and we highly recommend!

Everything was so perfect. Beautiful, quiet location. Very scenic. The rooms were clean. The staff went above and beyond for us. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking of staying on cat ba island. The staff also helped my wife when she was sick, that was so lovely.
Our stay at 2Stones Homestay was nice, the people running it were super friendly and helped us out a lot when we got trapped by a strong rain - even went to buy me a raincover since I arrived completely unprepared. You're really in good hands with them!
My room wasnt the nicest, the bathroom could have an upgrade and things were a bit dusty and worn off from the humidity. But my colleague's room was lovely, so might depend a bit on what you get.
We loved our time at 2Stones Cat Ba Homestay so much we extended our stay. It was in a perfect location set back from the busy road, beside a small lake. Though well away from the very busy town near the beach, it was an easy 2km walk or an inexpensive taxi ride. Our room was large and had everything we needed, including a very comfy bed.
Trang was extremely helpful and lots of fun. We really enjoyed her company as well as her breakfasts each morning, and she cooked a delicious hotpot for us on our last night.
While the bathroom was fine for us, some might find it dated. Unlike the modern hotels, the shower drainage is still old style Vietnamese.

Poorly designed bathroom: no separation or curtain between shower and toilet. Everything is wet after you've taken shower. To avoid this you have to move out trash bin and toilet paper somewhere each time. Sink is very small - not even possible to wash your face not spattering the water all around. No curtains in the room! Only window blind, but it's completely useless cause there is an upper part of the window, that is not covered at all. Asked several times to fix that, but the host was quite unhelpful. Finally they got a towel, had to attach it somehow myself to cover the window from morning light.

Although we only stayed for one night, we enjoyed the great hospitality in the comfortable room assigned to us. The Homestay is situated in a quiet corner on a lazy river, and is immediately comfortable and inviting when you come in. The room itself was very clean, cooled with AC and provided all the basic amenities and breakfast was delicious. The dog is great, too!
Unfortunately, there were some ants in our bed due to a crack in the window, but otherwise all else was perfect and we would recommend this spot again, especially due to the friendliness of the owners.
2 stones is a beautiful homestay in a secluded yet central location. The homestay has a lovely outdoor space by the river to eat and hang out by. The rooms are gorgeous and the hosts incredibly welcoming and helpful. We loved our breakfasts! We would definitely stay again given the chance.
