Great setup for a family. Loved being able to walk the property. Breakfast was delicious. Hammock and outdoor patio was cute
Lots of road noise from trucks

Staff was nice
Beds were comfortable
Amazing forest view
Humidity smell in rooms
Chocolate tour and breakfast were delicious, easy access to clean river and beautiful nature.
A bit close to noisy road, but eases at night
Garden
1) Our villa Cacao was not made of wood like on hotel photos, it was metal sheets construction. So rainy night was noisy because of metal roof.
2) For 188 dollars breakfast (2 eggs in omelette and tiny pieces of fruits) is a robbery.
3) In our villa “hot tub” was a cold giant bathtub. All photos attached.
4) breakfast served at 8am. Imho it is too late.
The garden is beautiful, people are nice. But unfortunately it is overpriced place.
Fabulous, detached, self contained bungalow/lodge. Very comfortable big bed. Lots of space, including outside private terrace with hot tub. Good breakfast choices. Friendly staff
We loved it all!
Remote yet close to town. Lovely cabin and surroundings.
Traffic was loud at times, but didn’t seem to bother us too much!
Very nice place, with great view into nature. The staff was extremely friendly, specially Mrs. Li made us feel at home all the time.
Lots of colourful birds visiting the property. Several Iguanas and amazing Tucán.
Trucks on the road can be pretty loud.
Eden Bungalows is close enough to Arenal town but far enough that you don't get the horde of visitors that flock the area. Our bungalow (together with 3 other bungalows) is surrounded by tropical plants which include gorgeous heliconias, alpinias, and tall trees. It is spacious for 3 adults and had enough electric plugs to charge phones by the bedside. There's a wood rack with hangers for hanging clothes as well as a "bench" for placing luggage and such.
The bathroom was simple but had solid wood counter and shelf space to accomodate our toiletries. At the back side of the bungalow is a covered patio that has a sink, small fridge, coffee maker, butcher block counter with cabinet underneath that stored kitchen/dining room essentials. A small table and chairs (good for 4) was provided as well as a hot tub and an outdoor shower. Beyond the roof line is a planting of large alpinias (Zingiber family) and tall heliconias that provided some privacy to the space.
The restaurant/breakfast area (attached to the was a few minutes walk from bungalow. The bar sitting faces the river which was framed by large trees, vines, and all sorts of tropical palms and shrubs. On the day that we had an early breakfast, the "resident" toucan named Horacio came by and entertained the guests with his "friendliness." There's also a resident sloth which we spotted up on the tree close to our bungalow.
Eden also provides chocolate and coffee tours. My husband and I were suitably educated and entertained by our guide Nelson.
Just something for the "light" sleeper: The bungalows are built below the road level. As such, traffic noise from trucks and motorbikes can be loud. However, we decided not to overfocus on this. After a long day of driving we were quite tired and by the time we fell asleep on our first night and subsequent nights it didn't bother us any longer.
Maybe because the bungalows are way down, the air felt still. We washed some clothes and hung them over the open weave chairs in our back patio, hoping that they will just be damp come morning. Alas, they were still dripping wet. After 2 days, they were still damp with a smell of clothing that didn't dry well. There were one or 2 thin shirts that we put on a hanger and hang on the curtain rod facing the air conditioner (split type with low to high speed fan setting) set on maximum fan speed. Within an hour, the shirts were dry. Placing a ceiling fan in the back patio to help move the air not just for those who choose to wash some clothes but simply to make it pleasant while sitting outside.
This place offers a magnificent view through the enormous terrace windows. The sense of peace and quiet is truly remarkable. Being situated right next to a cocoa field, the bungalow provides an immediate and palpable feeling of closeness to nature. Highly recommended for a tranquil escape!
