Very comfortable stay away from the town in a quiet location
Pros:

The reception staff were excellent after WE mistakenly booked the wrong room and we were relocated without a problem.
The suite was well equipped and spacious. The bed was comfortable.
Breakfast staff were equally great as was the breakfast.

Cons:

Nothing, except the dinner staff being rushed off their feet

Pleasant overnight stop off
Pros:

Location was excellent, down by the river with plenty of outdoor seating.

Cons:

Lounge was a bit tired but due a refurbishment very soon. Stayed in the cottages which were pleasant enough but tired. Had to carry our bags out the hotel and into first floor room which may not be suitable for all.

Excellent stay with dogs
Pros:

I stayed with my two dogs, we had our room in the little row of cottages which suited us perfectly instead of having to navigate stairs, landings, fire doors etc
The walks for the dogs were fab, the lane is so quiet. We throughly enjoyed our stay

Cons:

There wasn't anything we didn't like, if I had to be really picky I'd say the parking outside the cottage rooms. But it really wasn't a big deal.

Pros:

The whole place was fantastic, the river, the view, it was quiet - amazing :)

We were lucky to have arrived on the monthly biker meet which meant there was an outdoor barbecue too :)

Cons:

Not a lot of dairy/gluten free options at the restaurant which was a shame.

A very comfortable stay in idyllic surroundings.
Pros:

The setting was idyllic, the room comfortable (but see below), the staff were very friendly from check in to check out and the food was very good. Definitely stay here again.

Cons:

I would have liked reading lights on both sides of the double bed, but accept that it would be very difficult to fit one owing to lack of space for a table on both sides of the bed.

What a night at the priest house
Pros:

Amazing scenery
Cassie and the day staff were exceptionally pleasant. The Afternoon Tea was delicious and the service by the river was great

Cons:

The bed was not comfortable for the price. The pillows were flimsy - literally, a pain in the neck!

Lovely peaceful location, nice cosy restaurant
Pros:

Great location for local race track and a lovely peaceful setting on the river. Very helpful staff both times we’ve stayed and the restaurant is really nice.

Cons:

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here and as other guests have said, the hotel could do with a little love and attention in some areas BUT it is a lovely peaceful location just 5 minutes from where we are visiting. Only problem we were all allocated rooms above the kitchen air conditioning units. We just found it a little weird as hardly anyone was staying there that weekend and you’d assume they would fill out the “better” rooms first? The units were very noisy but full credit to the staff who found us rooms in a quieter part of the hotel, thank you!

Close to Donington Park in Lovely Setting
Pros:

We booked this room because it is close to Donington Park and it only takes a few minutes to drive there. We didn't have any food and drink, so can't comment on that. The hotel setting is lovely and there was a wedding reception taking place, though we had booked a 'cottage', so were not in the main part of the hotel. We had a good night's sleep.

Cons:

The hotel was a bit tired in appearance and could do with a refresh, but it suited our purpose.

Spectacular!
Pros:

The room was absolutely spotless and full of character. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and had plenty of out door seating for you to enjoy a drink and bite to eat outside.
We will definitely be returning

I would stay again mainly for the location!
Pros:

A brilliant location

Cons:

It misses a more personal touch that you get with a small B&B.
