Location is excellent for Donington Park Circuit where I was testing. Also the location is scenic being alongside a section of the River Trent with outside spaces and short walks along the riverbank.
Food has improved significantly with the evening meals being very good. Breakfast is also excellent, although a 06:30hr start would be helpful in my case, as the 07:00hr start time makes attendance at the circuit briefings a rush.
The rooms are a little 'tired' and some modernisation is overdue. However, they are fit for purpose and acceptable.
Lovely setting and beautifully presented. My room was large and comfortable and the shower pressure was fabulous. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Even the food on offer in the restaurant was delicious and excellent value for money! I’ll definitely stay again
Well,me and my gf got there and there was flooding,so they told us we need to follow a van to another carpark in the middle of nowhere then walk back, they said to my gf she may aswell get out at reception while I walked bak! Then when I cancelled and messaged the hotel they said there was a mini bus bringing people bak from the carpark which we was not told this we was told its a fair walk from the carpark....they won't give me a refund and it didnt state on the website that there were flooding!! So not really happy.
Good Breakfast plenty of choice with better thank average food all to a good standard and Hotel Dog friendly
nothing
Delicious main meal for the wedding, well.organised. (glossary of what was happening through the day)
Near our table there were 3 wasps. Lady birds too. It rained, but there were floods by the car park, but staff sorted out.
The atmosphere outside and the cleanliness was of top notch
No mops in bathroom to dry the floors after shower.Risk of sliping down when one is from taking a shower due to wet feet
Super Frühstück
Lovely location
Bathroom far too small
The Hotel is again looking great inside, particularly the main lounge.
The staff were very accommodating when I asked for out of hours alcohol
I stayed in the apartment across from the main hotel and having never stayed there before, I was surprised at the level of comfort and cleanliness of the room - especially as the approach to the room is not that appealing
In my view they don't make the most of their fantastic surroundings
The Restaurant is quite cold and austere and nothing like the warm/cosy/pub like feel they used to have 25 years ago.
Great hotel lovely setting
Fantastic hotel , really friendly staff , good value.
Nothing not to like
Liked the breakfast it was superb, location, open fire, and friendly polite staff, room was nice
Lovely meal & breakfast.
Room large and comfortable.
Lovely location
All good!
Riverside location. Quiet room in the main hotel. Hot water, bathtub, heater and good TV.
I found a (working) 3-pin round plug socket in my room!
Loved it, we are sure amazing in the summer.
Everything!!!
Lovely location with nice properties that definitely have potential under the correct management. Some staff were also lovely. The room itself was clean and cozy, we had a cottage room.
The food for the price we paid was nowhere near the quality expected. To add to this some staff were miserable to the point it felt we were actively bothering them whenever we ordered anything. The room also smelt damp, though we visited during a period where the Trent was flooding so that's acceptable to us.
